Mark, we may have to have some German Chocolate Cake on June 5th at Tony's BBQ in honor of your birthday.

Happy Birthday, Mark!

Happy Birthday, Mark!!!

We haven't ruled out meeting you all at Tony's, but it's still up in the air. Hope your day is wonderful!

Thanks for the greetings guys, and MissGizmo for the PM. Looking back, it looks like I am in good company for my birthday week, Sony, Charlie and Mark Trammel! What a mixed quartet we could be!

I have to share my day with you. My birthday was great, starting before dawn when some college-aged employees decorated my lawn with a dozen black signs saying things like "Happy 50th" and "I'm at that metallic age, silver in my hair, gold in my teeth and lead in my bottom." I then joined my staff at work at 9AM for a brief presentation, which involved bursting 50 black balloons, each with a dollar bill inside. You know a dollar bill inside a baloon will really fly up when the balloon is burst, did you know that?

Next, my church choir had arranged a 1/2 day retreat for my wife and I. We spent the morning and early afternoon poolside, with a nice lunch in a pastoral setting which was very relaxing. They also gave me a delicious carrot cake and 3 gift cards to local restaurants. Then, my girls had a small party for me at home, followed by a nap while my sweet wife prepared my favorite - homemade lasagna with french bread and sweet tea for supper.

All in all a great birthday, with only one negative moment. About 10:30 AM, I was backing my SUV out of the carport and did not notice that my wife had left the passenger door open, so it got ripped off. My insurance will cover the damage, but what irony. I have only officially been a geezer for a few hours and already had my first senior moment! [:D][:D]
In fact, one of the black signs in my front yard reads "Caution, senior moments in progress." Pretty prophetic (or should I say pathetic?[:D]).

Thanks again for the birthday wishes.

zzzzzzzzzzz

Mark
Glad you had a great day with the exception of the car door.
Now that you are a geezer remember that every year those senior moments come more and more often.

[sm=icon_smile_faint.gif]I forgot you're an old geezer and you can't remember that those senior moments will come more often.

[:D]

I wish everyone who shares a birthday with me today a Happy Birthday! I better take the batteries out of the smoke detectors before lighting all those 39+ candles on my ice cream cake! [:D]

Happy Birthday Melissa!!!

Do what I do...don't put any candles on it or use number candles so you don't have to blow out as many!!!![:D]

armydude -> RE: 2008 - SG's Birthday Thread (5/24/2008 10:56:18 PM)

Or just put one candle on it... That's what I recommend...[:D]

I like that idea. [:D] I'm really glad you had a great birthday. Thank you for sharing it with us. I know I go on and on about my birthday but I do enjoy hearing how God blessed others too. Sorry about your first mishap of your new year but it sounds like God is taking care of that for you too.

Happy Birthday, Melissa! I hope you had a great day!
