I am thankful that my daughter did not have the flu, and is feeling much better now. I am thankful that my son is doing well in his chemistry class at college and has found a study group that challenges him in his walk as well as in his academics. I am thankful for the amazing youth leaders at our church, and for the incredible teens that God has sent into our lives. I am thankful for these forums that offer such encouragement first thing in the morning and late into the night, as well as an opportunity to speak hope into the lives of others. I am thankful for the huge house I live in and my car that runs and the comforts of a central unit... and for the border-line shame and intense heart-ache that I feel because of the hungry and the poor and the oppressed around the world. I am thankful for the prayers of the saints, for the opportunity to agree with them in prayer, for the missionaries that go where I cannot, for the ministries at my new church that challenge me to get out in the streets of my city and live the Gospel out as Christ would have done. I am thankful for my obstinate computer, that works, and that teaches me patience. haha ... somebody stop me, cuz I could definitely go on and on. Is there anything in life that we cannot find some good thing that God has brought from it? Beauty for ashes. That is the Christian life, every day ^_^
