Relatively new here and haven't seen this asked so I thought I would.

List your three all-time favorite bass singers.

1. No question, George Younce. He was not only the best bass I have heard, he was a top-notch emcee.
2. Glenn Dustin. A real close number 2.
3. Maybe I should have asked for five. The third place is a tie with Tim Reilly, Jeff Chapman, & Mike Holcomb. I haven't heard as much from any of them as I'd like, so it's a hard choice.

If this has been asked before, sorry for the repeat.

By the way, the bass singer for the Diplomats is really awesome. I heard him and the Diplomats for the first time on one of Dinana's youtube video of the Jim Hamill Concert

He's getting ready to sing with the Prophets, and in the meantime doing selected dates with other groups (Monument Quartet, Johnny Minick & Friends).

I found it interesting that Jim Hamill said (current Singing News) in a perfect quartet, he would choose Big Chief Weatherington to sing bass. What was so appealing about him? I have Statesmen Quartet recordings but I don't think he remotely compares to Aaron. He was a great rhythm singer. Otherwise, I don't get it. He must have been a super nice guy and a great quartet man.

My all-time favorites are George Younce and Tim Riley, in that order. My runners-up are all the rest of them out there. I would like to make a special honorable mention of 2 long-time smooth bass singers who are still on the road today: Ed O'Neal and Gerald Williams.
