okay so basically everybody in baseball is on steroids? i kinda think you should worry about a beam in your eye rather than a possible spec in someone else's eye.

Right...we've all got to worry about the beams in all our eyes...the Bible is very clear about that.


Everyone in baseball could be using some sort of banned substance...but they have a duty not to cheat. There are rules in place and if they're breaking those rules then they should be prepared to face the consequences of their deception...

Now I know that the Reds need to be broken up! This 6 game winning streak is proof enough! And Adam Dunn has homered for 4 games in a row? Check his system for steroids! Evenson Volquez has an ERA of less than 2.00? He's gotta be juicin'!

OK, now that I've been facetious enough, let's look at things realistically. I know that the Reds probably won't make the playoffs this season, but it seems as though they're finally starting to play some good, solid baseball. Their 6-0 homestand against two 1st place teams should be some indication of that. And the fact that some of the guys are finally starting to hit the ball bodes well for the rest of the year. I'd settle for an above .500 campaign for my guys this year, then look to next year for a playoff berth.

I feel for ya, Duane. Keep in mind I had to suffer through the 60's (can you say 120 losses?) and late 70's (trade Tom Terrific??????) - early 80's with the Mutts, er, Mets. So I know what losing baseball teams can do to your psyche.

I know, Billy boy, I know. But I gotta thank you for the Tom Terrific trade, 'cause he gave Reds fans a real thrill when he pitched that no-no for us. It was a great night to be a Reds fan!

Congrats on the wins for your beloved Mets over those Yanks! Watched the game last night...was a great showing by them. [:)]


We went and saw the Astros v. Rangers yesterday...boy was it HOT! 94 degrees and both our girlies did fantastically (lots of sunscreen and water!). [:)] Hannah particularly loved the fireworks when the homeruns were hit. [:D]

well since every batter is taking steroids, it is a lot harder to throw a no hitter so if it's done, the pitcher must be juiced too ;)

Well, see then it all evens out in the end if everyone is cheating and lying, right. [;)][8D]

If one in every 7 players in 2003 were *caught* using (104 players out of 750) don't you think it likely that more were using and just didn't get caught?

this congressional hearing is really going to get ugly as they are wanting to talk to a lot more players than were outed in the mitchell report...

It probably will get ugly...it's sad to me both that MLB would be so lax in their banned substance monitoring and that the players would see that and take such advantage to cheat and break records that have no business being broken but by sheer will and true talent.

But it is very shocking that we as fans are only now learning that 104 people tested positive only 5 years ago but weren't really punished in any way...or we'd surely have noticed 1 in every 7 ball players myseriously not on the roster...

i am not surprised. the players union mandated all this be kept secret and mlb agreed in order to do the testing. i think this testing was just to determine the extent of the drug use. i'm not condoning it, but it's what everyone agreed to. i do have some funny visuals in my head from mysteriously not on roster ... like a kid watching in the stands and asking his parent ... where did our cleanup hitter just go ...

It was awesome!

I'm sad to say that I'm a Royals fan, but even though I was rooting for the other team I have been following Lester's story since I first heard he had cancer. It's an awesome story!

It definetly was obvious. All the replays showed that it was. Another good reason for instant reply. Both New York Teams are haveing there problems right now but it is early and they both could still make the playoffs.

The Yanks put a beeting on the M's last night. But the M's are the worst team in the Al right now so it was expected though. I don't get why the M's are so lousy. They have the pitching to do it and the hitting as well I just don't get it. If they get Junior back I am not sure if it will help or not. It probably would put the fans back in the seats though. Cause it is such a beautiful stadium and it is a shame to not have the fans.

i heard last week that junior returning (if it happens) likely wouldn't occur until off-season as the M's would be able to sign him for a tremendously less amount of money and it just doesn't make financial sense to pursue a trade for him this year.
