And yes, Sharon -- I am logging off to work on my stuff, both homework and new ways to bug Karlie!

And I had to nod as I re read your siggy. awwwww, I didn't even think about that. It made her whole day having those shoes. That alone was worth every penny. Kristen laughed and reminded me that I don't even buy shoes that pricey for myself...lol!

Are ya done yet Steve??!! BTW did you get dumped with rain at all this morning? Man, we did! And of course it was right before my sis in law and I were checking out our groceries. AND the umbrella that I had brought along was...in the car. It was quite an "adventure". I'm just leaving now to start. There was a line of rain coming that split in half when it got here, so no rain at all! We really need some too.

I am sure that most around here were getting pretty nervous as the streets were filling up fast. I mean it dumped. I actually would appreciate a nice, gentle, steady rain. I know there are many places that need the rain so I hope they get more soon.

I love little teeny shoes too...I think buying them for the girls is where my shoe thing started. I don't remember liking them all that much before that.

ORIGINAL: karlie Shopping went well and was a lot of fun. The place was insane though! It was quite a big event. They had a men's business group that came out and cooked breakfast for everyone so we could get acquainted with our kids before shopping, then we hit the store. I actually had two kids..everyone else had one. One of mine was developmentally delayed and they wanted her cousin to be with her. She was a sweetheart though...all smiles and sunshine. She never said a word(I don't think she can speak and be understood by anyone but family), but she'd point when she saw something she liked, and make a face when she didn't like something. It was a hoot. They were so fun trying on their new clothes. Both of them just adored their new clothes and were so proud. The older one just chattered non-stop about "how cool" everyhting was and that her clothes were going to match, and the little one just lit up and nodded her head smiling when she liked what she tried on. It was precious! We finished with clothes, socks and underwear, then we hit the shoes...oh yea...they love shoes! I steered them(reluctantly so) away from the sandals which caught their eye, to the tennis shoes since they needed school shoes, and we found some each girl liked. The little one found some that were white patent with glitter pink shoe strings and she fell in love. I won't even tell you what I ended up paying above her gift card so she could have them But when she tried them on(before I had a chance to look at the price) she held her little foot up with just the hugest smile ever and pointed and nodded. I knew just how she felt...lol! I saw the price and knew it pushed us well over her limit, but I couldn't tell her no, so we got them. They were so cute and she deserved something special. Anyway, it was chaotic and hectic, but it was so much fun and I was glad to have been a part of it. It's so sweet how grateful those kids are and how thrilled they were with a whole bag of new clothes just for them. Karlie, that is so awesome! No, I didn't go to the chiropractor. I don't have the money for it, and don't have medical insurance.

Thanks Karlie. My neck seems to be out too. I'll be glad when that's better so that the headaches will stop.

That's no fun, Trish. I hope it all straightens out very soon. Have you tried alternating hot/cold compresses? That's what my chiro usually tells us to do and it usually gives a lot of relief to the pain.

I can handle heat, but not the cold. It's already cold here, and my muscles all tighten up when I get cold. We're pretty certain that I have fibromyalgia. (I see a rheumatologist on the 12th of August for a proper diagnosis). When you have that, the cold just tightens the muscles even more, so I don't know whether I want to go through more pain, which is what will happen.

Last night I was remembering those Friday night parties we would have in our threads. Any of y'all remember those? I miss them. Life has changed since then; dramatically so for many of us. Among us, there have been babies born, marriages, deaths, a divorce, various family emergencies, some personal emergencies among us, babies growing into children, children growing into adults and going off to school and starting their own lives; fiddle . . . even some of us going off to school. We have rejoiced with each other through so many happy and joyous times, and have mourned with and supported each other through many sad and lonely times. We even said goodbye to one of us - rest in Our Lord's Peace, Sir Freddy Bear. We have prayed for one another; for myriad of reasons. We have encouraged and strengthened each other. We have laughed with and sometimes at each other; we have teased each other for practically anything and everything. Sometimes we have even disagreed with each other. LOL And even through all the life changes, and even though we don't seem to have our Friday night parties any longer, I still remember those times and I think of so many of y'all throughout the day as I'm doing things. I'm so glad Our Lord brought me to these threads, and I'm glad He did the same for y'all. I cannot imagine what my life would have been like these past 8 years without y'all. {{{Y'all}}} Be abundantly blessed today.
