WHAT THE HECK?!
I didn't get to watch last night, hubby was super tired so we just went to bed.
I can't believe Steve got the boot...I thought he was really improving.
Adam is a jerk. Too bad we can't vote to throw him off.

'have a feeling that the votes are not only going to the celebrities. I'm assuming that people are voting for Julianne not for Adam...if only we could only switch teams like Survivor.

Yep. Viewers love Julianne. Anna -- the Gutt's partner -- not so much. Not to mention that Anna isn't a very good choreographer.

I read a few days ago that most of the dancers gets outside help on choreographing their routines. I could understand that since some of the dancers have their expertise in one dance but not the other. Some will have latin dancing as their signature dance and might require extra effort on the ballroom part.

I'm in the minority here, but I kind of like Adam. I guess you have to understand his humor. Sorry to see Steve go. He seemed so upbeat and positive about his experience on the show. Kristi will win this. What did you all think about Steve and Jonathan doing the tango last night? I was kind of shocked. What are your thoughts?

I thought it was quite putrid. I liked Steve, but after that little number I was actually glad he got the boot.

I actually loved the "Mango" and thought it was funny and meant to be funny, not meant to promote guy-dancing. I thought Jonathan's little flourishes were hilarious, and I smiled at the man-stances and faces afterward.

I thought Carrie Ann's remark to Tony the night before, when he said Marissa's Tony was for singing and Carrie Ann said, "Now, you're putting down your partner?" was totally uncalled for. I think he just meant that just because she got a Tony doesn't mean she's a whiz dancer. I thought the judges were overly harsh, but I did think her jives was slow and not very smooth and she probably should have been the one to go home, but people may have sympathized because of the judges' comments.

Well, now I'm peeved. What does it say about the voters for this show that a jerk like Adam gets to stay and a sweetheart like Steve has to go home?
That, like my sisters, they think he's "so funny" that they want to keep him around. And please don't go off on how his humor is so off-color, I already know that. Neither one is gong to win it anyway, so why worry? Adam will be gone soon enough.

It was a joke for Pete's sake! Maybe you missed the show Monday night where they showed Jonathon come in to help Steve out because Anna was injured or sick? That's what they were making fun of last night.

it's not humor to call someone what he did the first night...that's not humor. Humor is Dick Van Dyke tripping over the ottoman week after week and yet us still laughing about it here years later....THAT is real humor. Being crass is NOT humor.

Like I said earlier, I thought it was so funny. It was just a joke. It's not like it was the 'first step' to man/man dancing

I doubt very much that Jonathon is going to trade Anna in for Steve. It was funny. I think Steve actually danced better with Jonathon than Anna. I loved the way Jonathon crashed into Steve at the end of the dance.

Besides Jonathan probably being a better partner, I wonder if part of that could be because he wasn't being judged and could just have a good time.

I thought it was hilarious. They both seemed to be treating it seriously, yet with humor added.

I couldn't help but think how interesting it must have been for Jonathan - to be led rather than leading the dance.

Marlee Martin did really well tonight. Carrie Ann Inaba even said she took her breath away.

Someone explain to me what 'lift' means in dancing. I know the judges are big in lift violations and they mentioned the feet getting off-- are the 'lifts' a no no only on the celebrities? or the dancers as well?

I'm pretty sure a "lift" means that both of the woman's feet left the floor at the same time. I think one foot has to be on the floor at all times; even during those spins. And I believe that rule applies to everyone; dancers and celebrities.

the dances they do have strict guidelines...each of them has a list of things that make that dance what it is....so if the dance calls for a lift then it's allowed, but most of ballroom dances (that I know of) do not call for lifts to be in the mix. So that's why they were saying that about the lifts being a no-go

And I also believe it does not include an assisted "jump" which means it's something you could do alone.

Wah!!! Somehow I forgot to tape this -- and the waltz and pas are my favorites. But thankfully someone had the performances on YouTube with the video before and judging after each dance, so I probably got most of it. I checked the ABC site but they didn't have last night's up yet.

I had not heard about Derek's injury! Poor guy. He seems ok. When the camera was filmimg from up high, it really showed how long her arms are.

I thought overall it was a pretty good night for everyone. I thought some of the songs were very hard to do ballroom dances to, though.

That's where I get a bit mixed up - 'can't remember if it was Edyta or Karina who did the 'jump' last night and the partner kinda look like he was supporting her but I guess it was just a technique.

I thought they all had a pretty good night - the dances were well done overall. I have a feeling it's gonna be a close contest. I like that the bottom two are not announced. I think that keeps all the dancers upbeat and trying hard to stay for another week.
