Hi Jim, thanks for joining us! One of the many things that I've learned about healthy eating for weight loss is that there is no "one size fits all" plan that works for everyone. We are all uniquely and wonderfully made by our Creator, with different preferences, lifestyles, health issues and lives ... so it's important for each of us (often through trial-and-error) to figure out what works best for us. Because I am diabetic, I need to eat on a schedule, and I need to carefully watch the type and amount of my carbs. And, since I need to plan and schedule meals because of it, I figured I'd might as well also plan in my proteins, fats and fiber, too...LOL! For me, I need to weigh, measure and log foods right now since I am in the process of training/learning about PROPER portions, serving sizes, and moderation. Other people have mastered these issues without taking the steps that I take .... so they can use other methods to monitor their food consumption. What is THE single most important thing when it comes to healthy eating for weight loss? PRAYER. The weather is beautiful, and I went bike riding around the neighborhood ... 4 miles yesterday and 2 miles today! My plan is to go out again tomorrow, Lord willing. And I can proudly report that my Apple-a-day plan for March is right on track .... I've had at least one apple every day so far this month! (And I am trying some new apples, too!) We can do this ... just take things one meal at a time, one day at a time, one pound at a time. Harvie
