Hey everyone,

I'm wondering if people have any good Christian books on friendship/relationships they've read and would recommend? I seem to have come across so many challenging things in my own relationships (friendships, not dating) that I would love to seek out something to read and chew on. :)

I know BeesKness talked about "The Four Loves" and I think that's a great one. Are there any others you've come across? Let's get a list going. [:)]

"Relationships" by Dean Sherman. Here's a link for ya.

THE best book I've ever read on the subject. Good for all types of relationships. Cuz they all take the same thing... love.

Also Wild At Heart and Captivating I believe give good insight into relationships even though that isn't the main focus. [:)]

I'm currently reading "Choosing God's Best". It compares dating w/ courting. The word courting is not in the Bible, though implied. I have so many others as well, but can't recall all the titles....LOL. .....Lord help me!!!

"The Five Love Languages" by Gary Chapman. That book is amazing.

"Attachements" by Clinton and Sibcy, one of the best christian books you'll ever read. Pick it up. Also another excellent book is, "The Seven Secrets of Highly Effective People." by Covey. A knock out! Read it, it helps in so many areas!

I highly recommend "Becoming a Friend and Lover" by Dick Purnell. Dick came and did a conference for my church's singles ministry several years ago, and it was excellent.

Hey Dakota,

Is "Seven Secrets..." a Christian book? I heard some people discussing it before, but for some reason had the impression it was not from a Christian perspective?

"A love worth giving" by: Max Lucado. Excellent book about the characteristics of true love!

I really like When God writes your love story. I have also read Secrets of an irrestible woman by Michelle Mckinney Hammond and it's a great book.

I've read Boundaries in Dating. Before scratching that off your list, it discusses boundaries that are important in all kinds of relationships. I've been able to apply many of the principals across the board in my life. And it has made me aware of some of my own shortcomings and how to be a better person and friend.

I'm currently reading Boundaries in dating & I must say it is really quite informative. It does offer a lot of insight into all kinds of relationships.
I came across: Boundaries: (When to say Yes,When to Say No How to take control of your life), while I was in the library and this is also quite good. I think that Dr. Cloud and Dr. Townsend (the authors of the Boundary books) provide good spiritual information on different aspects of relationships in one's life.

No, its not a christian book, but many of the principals in there are very biblical. The author even uses some scripture. It's a great book.

I've heard of both. Could you elaborate on what they deal with more specifically? I'd love to hear more. [:)]
