I hope mine doesn't strike you that way. Mine is what my real name, Elizabeth, means, and I've always loved the meaning of my name.

I don't care for Halloween avatars, because I don't celebrate it. I have a problem with Christians celebrating Halloween anyway, and when people have Halloween avatars it's a constant reminder of that issue.

Some of you mentioned that you recognize people by their avatars. What would you do if more than one person shared the same avatar?

That actually happens sometimes. Groups of people will all sport the same avatar; and it will be of one of the posters.

It's tough sometimes. There are two posters that regularly post in certain areas that have the same stock avatar. I sometimes do a double-take until I look at their handle. The handle's a backup.

Oh, I've seen things like that also. I had forgotten about the stock avatars.

One time two people who were sportin' the same avatars were disagreeing with each other in a thread.
It was kind funny reading the posts and just going by the avatars and not the handles.

Yeah, it was Tuney up there that said she was gonna report me to this thread for sinful avatar usage.

I think she was just trying to get the attention off of her sinful grocery purchases.

Whhhhat???? ME???
I not only did not go to the store today but I haven't eatten pizza either! But the day is still young.
I know my food will last until I have had a chance to play some dubious online massive multiplayer role playing game.

(yes shiney light... I teach drama in elementary school... one of these days I am going to get a t-shirt that reads, "you don't scare me. I teach Drama!")

If I could make an avatar of the pizza box from Veggie Tales, the one with the lion delivering the pie, that would be priceless. Incase you don't know, it is a running joke from the Daniel in the Lion's Den story. The lions ordered pizza instead of eatting Daniel.

I have encountered some of them.

Why do I hear Tim the Toolman grunting in my mind?

I have seen a few pictures here that seem dark, even a little scary and I wonder if the person really feels that way. I do put more stock into what they actually say though. I love seeing the variety of avatars on here.

I'd love to see a Tim the Toolman avatar.

Actually, I'd prefer an Al Borland one. I always liked him and thought he had the BEST beard!

Then again there are those who are typical jock, he man, shut up women types on here that just tell us all to shut up and just listen to them because they have all the answers.

I usually ignore those guys. I know my friend Sam will take care of them.

FWIW...... this thread made me re-think some of the limitations I've placed on my avatars.

With the exception of theme avatars with some fellow posters, I've never posted anything without a bee/bee related or me in it.

So, a change!

I MISS doing those themed avatars! I was cleaning up my PC the other day and stumbled across my folders of avatars from when we did Old Hollywood and TV shows. Too fun!

Definitely!

I think if they gave Richard Karns a sitcom (not Family Feud), he'd have a built-in fan base.

Thanks, Kat!

Yeah, I'm not online as much...... so I never know anymore when the call for themed avvys goes out.

I miss them, too. (As well as a lot of the folks that ran the themes with us)

I love looking at your avatar, the kids look so happy and proud of their new brother. :)

I had an Anne Geddes theme on my myspace for a while that was the baby dressed up as a bee and I almost felt guilty about it, like I was copying you.

Just found this thread.

I think avatars, doohickeys, or whatever you want to call them give us a insight into our personalities. It's great seeing a face or something that reminds us of that particular poster. I can't say I've seen an avatar that offended me but I have seen a couple that strike me as being a bit new age-ish and gives me an impression that they may be into more mystical things instead of things of God. Of course, that's just my interpretation.

Mine <-------- is something I found that seems to be like me. Having fun and enjoying life in a pink convertible. Top down, wind in my hair and laughing all the way. Of course being blonde means I have more fun, doesn't it? I've heard rumors.

I would like to put my girls photo on, they said " No" maybe do it anyway. I would like to put my favorite photo on here. My husband and I were about twenty three. He had hair, and was much prettier than me, I was pregnant with my first DD. We looked so much in love in that photo. I did not put it on, because I laughed at my business teacher, who used the same young photo for twenty years. I would put a disclaimer, but you could tell a difference, between this avatar and the young one (LOL). So do you guy's think that would be too corney, or fakey if i did that? I am afraid this one now looks stuck-up.
