I have 2 dogs. Both are cards the smaller one is a bit zany.
He ducks the windshield wipers while riding in my van. ( Reminded me
of my brothers old dog who would "duck" overpasses while riding in
the back of his truck.)

The strangest, he won't eat when someone is in the room.
Snacks and treats he's just fine. But normal dinner, he stares at me till
I leave, then he'll eat.

Now he's taken up howling along with the coyotes - used to he would
bark at them. Now it's a sing along

My mutt will not go outside if it is raining. Not even on the porch. He will run away from the open door if it is raining outside.

My dog hates loud noises. He tries to hide underneath things when there are loud noises around. The cats seem to think having their food scraped down makes it taste better.

Simba rings the bell on the door when he wants to go out.I taught him that.
He stirs his water for some reason.
He also waves his paw against the window when he wants in.

Ginger is scared of our spinning wheel. If you move it she will run.
She only seems to like being held by my mom and never goes near my dad or me to be held.
She hides under the couch when simba bugs her also.

One of my pups is missing two front teeth, so by default, her tongue is constantly hanging out of her mouth.

Our cat doesn't seem to realize that whether she goes out the back door or front, they lead to the same place. She can be sitting on the window sill staring out at pouring rain, and yet she wants to go outside until you actually open the door and she sees & understands it is raining outside.

My dog does so many goofy things I can't even begin to remember them.

One thing she does when she is about to go to sleep is find a blanket, any blanket will do, and she will suck on it like a pacifier and moves her paws like a cat kneading.

She is afraid of the vaccum, not goofy, just leaves the room.

She will hide when you ask her if she wants a bath.

When she gets a treat she will go to the dining room to eat it.

She loves to go bye bye and when I take my daughter to school I ask her if she wants to go. She gets so excited and I tell her to go tell so and so it is time to go and she goes to her and barks at her.

She may be goofy but she is very smart.

One of our cats can jump straight up in the air. He uses this skill to turn on the hallway light. We don't know why he likes it on, but he definitely prefers that--he never turns it off, even though that is easier to do.

He also jumps straight up about 6 feet just to swipe at the bird's cage before falling back to the ground.

One of our cats will not allow anyone to hold her, so when she wants petting she walks back and forth by you so that you can just hold your hand down and she can pet herself with it

The bird always keeps his toys in a nice, neat pile. It's very strange.

my cat likes lettuce. I had forgotten about it until my cat grabbed a bag my sandwich had been in and went crazy trying to get a leftover piece in the bag

weird.

Our wonderful dog Talitha, who died about 10 years ago now, used to love to catch weeds in the air when we were weeding. She would do these aerial back flips catching them. She far preferred catching weeds over sticks and balls. Even though her mouth got full of dirt, she didn't care.

One of my box turtles, Timothy, will get stuck inside his shell. The back part opens & closes just fine but with his front he has to put in some effort to get open after being closed up tight. His shell isn't broke or cracked or anything, it simply sticks. He seems to want to have an aloof sort of attitude like his best bud Speck has, but I'd imagine if you get stuck inside your own shell you probably can expect to be thought as rather dorky, tee-hee.

We have a small dog which gets so worked up when playing she does a crazy run all over the house. She runs and jumps over furniture people, etc. It is quite funny, but we have to really get her worked up. Animals are a blessing and bring lots of joy to our lives.

......... ooooo this thread makes for some very entertaining reading!!

My smaller dog is quirky about water and light.

He chases the flashlight beam... or a reflection of the sun... until you think he's gonna die of a heart attack. He ate a hole in the wall once because he kept seeing the reflection of his dog tags on the wall...

He does the same with water outside... he will demolish a sprinkler in no time flat... once we bought a 'sprinkler hose' for the fun of it to see what he'd do... (the hose with the holes all the way down it)...

He ran the entire length of the hose trying to 'eat' the water... when he got down to the end and turned around - he saw that it was still 'alive'!!!

We had to turn it off after a few minutes.... I seriously thought he was gonna get a heart attack out of that one! (Later, he killed the hose!)

He also does the same thing with snow... tries to attack it... and eat it. There is NO WAY I can shovel my drive if he's out with me! How did he figure out snow is water??

We bought a Ragdoll cat in Jan. and this is the cutest cat I've ever had. He drinks out of the dog's water and eats his food! I have to put him in the bathroom when I feed the dog. He also plays in the dogs water. I have picture of him sitting in the dog's food bowl.

I have a very territorial cat. The only reason she puts up with my other cat is because they were raised together. Last night my kitty kept attacking the sliding door and blinds. My mom finally realized that she was attacking her reflection in the window.

The other cat also like to get magnets off the fridge. we have these little round ones that she will just and pull down. She can almost reach the top of the fridge when she jumps now!

.......

Getting the thread back on track....

Our black lab.... loves 'cleaning up' our cereal bowls when we are done with them. He picks them up and takes them to his kennel....

Actually, he takes a LOT of things to his kennel! I have to tell his girl to clean his room!!

My #3 child (St. Nicky the Christmas cat) has taken to turning over the bathroom garbage can and digging in search of flexible cotton swabs. We call it "mining for Q-tips".

When he finds one, he proudly carries it around the house and plays with it for a long time.

We started carrying our used Q-tips to the kitchen garbage in hopes that he would give up, but he is very persistent. (I must confess that I feel so sorry for him that I occasionally put one in for him, but don't tell Mrs. Kerrlaw).

My adorable kitty Princess F loves tuna and salmon. Each time I open a tin, her eyes sparkle. If it's not either tuna or salmon, I feel sorry for her. When I open a tuna or salmon, most of the time I keep the whole can for her. She deserves them.

My kitty Simba is so finicky sometimes.I will give him milk in his food dish and sometimes he won't drink it unless I put it in a bowl instead. Weird huh! He also attaches himself to the couch when he doesn't want to be carried upstairs by me.

My little Sheltie we had when I was growing up would only eat pancakes with syrup. We tried many a time to give him the leftover pancakes or two after breakfast but he would snub them without syrup. He was also 100% accurate in predicting snow. If we let him outside and he immediately dropped in the grass and rolled, it would snow later. Worked every time.

If we don't remember to scoop, our Jack Russell goes to the cat potty for dried treats.
