When Timothy was a toddler He his our main phone. It went dead and it took me four months to find it. I even had a medical emergency on the day he lost it. It was really tricky getting help. It was scary too. I was nearly passing out with three kids in the house and the oldest was only 5. Never allowed that to happen again. We have lots of phones now.

LOL...yeah after I have this baby and we can venture out to OKC to the zoo or museum or something I have a feeling we will meet up one day.
Sarah - I hope so! We also head down your way every once in a while for scout camp outs at the wildlife refuge! Just as long as we actually meet up before one of us moves![;)]

It was me right LOL I do that to Amy, about saying "My online friends"
Yep - Debbie it was you!![:D]

I saw a thing in a catalog that you could put on your remote & if you lost it you could clap & it would beep until you found it! I actually thought about getting it![;)]

Speaking of cell phones, we are going to have to change our plan. We've been wanting to see if it would be cheaper to bundle it with our internet & home phone anyway. Dh is now using it WAY more than before, since work needs to be able to get a hold of him anytime! We went over double our minutes last month (that means our bill was double![sm=icon_smile_yikes.gif]) and we're over just 20 minutes or so for this billing period (luckily it ends today!). We can get out of our current contract on May 15th, so if we are just careful, we should be able to avoid another BIG bill. We can call each other on our cell phones w/o it counting toward minutes, so he no longer calls from his cell to the home phone. He even had me playing his secretary a few times last week. He'd call me on my cell & tell me to call someone on our land line & tell them what he needed. It was actually a bit funny![:D] I don't usually have my cell phone on when I'm home. But now I've been carrying it around with me. So I often have to look for it before I leave the house![&:]

Amy, dd has T Mobile and she has something called the Fave 5 where they can call 5 people and it doesn't charge anything.

Homegrownkids -> RE: April Showers Bring Spring Flowers Homeschool Chat (4/2/2008 10:02:55 AM)

Good morning everyone,

We started our school day at 8:30 today!! That is a record since we moved here!! I hope we can keep it up, and maybe even started it just a tad earlier so that we have lots of left over time during the day to enjoy the nice weather.

My dh has started driving again since his seizure 6 months ago. It is amazing how nice it is to have another driver in the house!! I can tell him to pick up so and so from practice... etc.... the only bad thing is that he is learning his way around town. But it shouldn't take too long for that.
I'm just so happy he has a life again!!! He woke up early this morning and went to the Y to work out.

Do you guys get AFA alerts? McDonalds has joined the gay agenda movement.

judii1 -> RE: April Showers Bring Spring Flowers Homeschool Chat (4/2/2008 10:11:24 AM)

Guess we will have to switch to BK!!![:D]

This was so funny, I thought I'd share it here.

That article is so funny yet so... true. I love it!

Yea, that was a cute article

Jenny-Fair -> RE: April Showers Bring Spring Flowers Homeschool Chat (4/2/2008 11:15:05 AM)

I set my alarm for 9 but woke up before 8! It was the sunshine that did it. Brandon is already up, too, but he set his alarm. Schuyler and her mom will be here about 10 [:)] Ash requested to be woken early. She said she finds that less disturbing than waking up to a little face and blonde hair going, "Who are you, and why are you sleeping on Jenny's couch?" LOL

I was hoping we'd finish the kitchen yesterday but no such luck. And we didn't 'do' school, either! Today we'll probably night school, lol.

We all stayed up last night watching April Fool pranks on Youtube. There is this great one where people had a conference room on wheels and when someone would go into the porta potty they'd move it so that when they came out, they walked into a business meeting. People's reactions were so funny!

Ellie-Mae -> RE: April Showers Bring Spring Flowers Homeschool Chat (4/2/2008 11:38:22 AM)

We cancelled Sarah's appointment this morning so I wouldn't have to be out of the house for the entire day. I am just not up for that yet. I am going to a doctors appt this afternoon. I slept the eentire night last night and feel good about that!

Jenny-Fair -> RE: April Showers Bring Spring Flowers Homeschool Chat (4/2/2008 11:45:14 AM)

I apparently woke up in the Twilight Zone this morning! Picture this...a boy. A boy who normally sleeps in as late as his mother will allow. But THIS morning he awoke to his alarm at 8, showered and shaved, and then requested to complete his day's math assignment post-haste![:o]

I'm afraid. Very afraid.

Keep the girl. (I mean the adult girl.)

Jenny-Fair -> RE: April Showers Bring Spring Flowers Homeschool Chat (4/2/2008 11:51:58 AM)

LOL--she's still asleep! But I don't think she's his motivation. He wants to go to youth group tonight but we'll have company all day and he knows if he can't get his schoolwork done I'll say no, so I think that's why he's doing this. I could be wrong, though, lol.

Homegrownkids -> RE: April Showers Bring Spring Flowers Homeschool Chat (4/2/2008 11:57:37 AM)

I am obviously not use to dragging myself out of bed early, because now I am starting to get REALLY tired!!

I have done everything but Math with the kids and I even sat down and did school with the DD that lost her Math book!! See, that Devil couldn't stop me!! She seems like she is such a fast learner and I bet she will be ready for 1st gr. by fall even though her K has been very spuratic.

My older DD has an orthodontist appt. this afternoon. I am praying that we find an affordable option to get this paid for!

Ellie-Mae -> RE: April Showers Bring Spring Flowers Homeschool Chat (4/2/2008 12:15:20 PM)

LLisa, have you reported your licence plate stolen. That can be very important info for police pulling people over and such sometimes.

Bagel -> RE: April Showers Bring Spring Flowers Homeschool Chat (4/2/2008 12:22:35 PM)

Apparently, today is World Autism Awareness Day. CNN has some interesting stories on their site and on tv right now.

Consecrated2God -> RE: April Showers Bring Spring Flowers Homeschool Chat (4/2/2008 12:24:41 PM)

You know, we called the police and they told us to call the deputy sheriff. We called him and his phone was turned off, because he was at work. I guess he works another job. We left a message on his voice mail. We tried calling them both twice and he never did call us back. [&:] I guess they don't care about stolen license plates here. It's expired, now that we've bought new ones, though, so at least if someone does something stupid with our plates it won't come back on us.

Jenny-Fair -> RE: April Showers Bring Spring Flowers Homeschool Chat (4/2/2008 12:26:13 PM)

Bagel Lisa--I was wondering what was up because cnn.com had had autism stories for over a week now.

Consecrated Lisa--your family sure has had odd criminal happenings lately!

Yeah, it's kind of weird! We usually don't have this much involvement with the police. [&:]

Ashley just woke up and said, in response to Brandon's behavior this morning, "Getting up early does bad things to your brain!" LOL

mouse5 -> RE: April Showers Bring Spring Flowers Homeschool Chat (4/2/2008 1:20:00 PM)

Folks - just wanted to say the avatars are awesome. [:D]

Finally I was able to get the kids to sit down and do their school work and shock of shocks they are doing it quietly without all the giggling, wiggling and jumping around. Unfortunately, I've got something weird going on with my neck. So I can't move my head around without a sharp pain shooting to the base of my skull and down my back. It's making it hard to enjoy the fact that they are being extra good today.[&o]

cindybode -> RE: April Showers Bring Spring Flowers Homeschool Chat (4/2/2008 1:38:01 PM)

I'm not sure my dh is going to let me go to my neighbor's anymore. I took my 2 little baby goats over there to be disbudded, and I came home with 4 little goats. [sm=icon_smile_roll.gif] The two I bought are boys and will help to brush hog the back of the pasture before being turned into goat burger in the fall. Hey, they were on sale! What could I do? [:D]

It is chilly but very sunny today. Jesse is still feverish, so he is playing a video game at the moment. He did come out to see the new goats but went right back in. I might do some reading aloud later but I'm not going to follow my original plan of having him catch up on some math. His head, he tells me, is fuzzy. [&:]
