ORIGINAL: Jenny-Fair I put Indonesian Chicken in the crock pot and now my hands smell like garlic and ginger. yum! How do you make that? Well, the recipe calls for chicken thighs, but I don't like them, so I put three or four chicken breasts in the crock pot, several garlic cloves, minced, a nice 1 1/2" chunk of ginger, minced, several tablespoons of soy sauce and a couple tablespoons of dark sesame oil. Oh, and a dash of cayenne. Because I use breasts instead of thighs, I also add a cup or so of chicken broth so it doesn't get too dry. I cook all day on low or 4 to 6 hours on high. 1/2 hour before dinner I add about 3/4 cup of peanut butter, close the lid to let it melt (I use all-natural) and start the rice. Then when it's time to eat I stir the PB in and serve with the rice (actually, I also like it with spaghetti noodles). Cindy, just how big a car are you going to rent if you are bringing Donna, Levi, Erin and Lisa? And if you are going to bring one Lisa, could you bring two, please? Donna, I actually touched the snake yesterday. Schuyler held it! It's martial arts night..and it's the closest to Brandon's bday, which means he gets pummeled tonight. This is why we pay the big bucks! LOL

I should clarify, as embarrassing as this might be: I don't really think about the end times much. I am not pre, mid or post trib. I would like to be be a pre-triber, but I don't think that it matters much if God isn't a pre-triber too. Unfortuanately (or maybe fortunately) He didn't tell us what He is. So in the back of my mind is a "plan for the worst, hope for the best" thing going on. Most of the time, it doesn't come to the front of my mind (I really can't go there), but there are times that it does creep forward. I know that it could become very difficult for us christians. The less reliant on medical stuff I am the more I won't have to tangle with the government if times should get ugly. I think about how it will be to get medical attention or supplies if things get bad, or even if the stock market were to crash or something like that. That is something that I can't come up with and plan or answer for at all... I just don't know. Thus my fear of not being able to get needed meds. At this point, it really isn't a rational fear. It just surfaces every now and again.

In fact there was a thread over in the Women's folder a few weeks ago (started by Chelle if you want to look it up) about this type of "fear" of the future, rapture, etc. I can't let myself go there either, or it gets too overwhelming. I just try to keep my mind on the here and now and know that God will provide what we need when we need it...whether that be physical needs or the spiritual and emotional support to get through everything.

Will he not provide tomorrow? He has and He will. Lisa, work through it, but always remember that the Lord has it in His control and He knows what is best for you. I have personally gotten to the point with this whole end times thing that I really do not care. I feel like I've already been as close to hell and back as I'll ever be and the Lord has been with me. He will be with me through whatever comes. Only He not only knows the future, but He holds the keys to my future and I trust Him.

It takes place in other countries, and there's no reason it couldn't happen here. The idea of not being able to get relief if I have an asthma attack is a scary thought, but the others are right. No matter what happens, God will be with us. We don't need to fear the future. God will never abandon us. Even if the worst happens, our eternal future is secure.

Jumping in on the kids activity bandwagon ... I LOVE our local homeschool association!!! Discounted rates for gymnastics $44 each per session (Ilene and Jacob just started yesterday ... this time it's an 8 week session) and with soccer, we have enough kids to have our own league!! It costs $20 per family per year ... there is no fundraising or anything -- and the only stipulation is that each parent take a turn providing snacks for a week (which is typically popsicles). They often have a bunch of gear that other children have outgrown, so you can (usually) get cleats and shinguards for around $5 from a parent of an older/bigger child.

No matter what happens, God will be with us. We don't need to fear the future. God will never abandon us. Even if the worst happens, our eternal future is secure. Well here's my weird thought as an asthmatic concerning end times persecution: I figure I will be quick to go, so I can afford to take a bold stand when the time comes. I know, I know, it sounds a lot like Peter's bold boasting about how he would rather die than deny the Lord, but it gives me peace. It was reading about WWII concentration camps that got to me. All that filth and straw and crammed quarters, bugs, bad nutrition and forced labor? I'd probably only last two weeks, tops, without my meds in those kind of circumstances. So, hopefully that will give me the courage to be a loving testimony in the face of death, since I know there will be no avoiding it anyway. Oh, and I almost died once as a kid with asthma, and have already stared down the panic, so I know it can be done. I just surrendered myself to the Lord and decided to let go of the fight and relax. I told myself it would be like getting on a bus and falling asleep and waking up somewhere else. This let me relax and try to sleep, thanking God that the someplace else would be heaven. About that time my grandma found me and called the ambulance, so it remains only theory. And now, I go back to lurking while you ladies plan your fun times together. Ellie-Mae, you're in my prayers this morning!

Wow, Shadowspring, I think you have a very good attitude about it. I struggle with feeling panicked when I have an asthma attack and it makes it worse. There have been a few times when I've lost my inhaler, and even if I was breathing fine, just the knowledge that I don't know where it is can actually put me into an asthma attack if I'm not careful. If I'm actually wheezing and I don't have any on hand or can't find it, we'd better head over to get a replacement because I can't relax when I can't breathe.

It is rainy here today. Mr. Manly's Cub Scouts meet at a church. We are going to be doing a service project of yard work today. I don't do yard work at all. My mother's hobby and passion is gardening. I don't enjoy gardening at all. I've probably mowed the lawn once in the last ten years. So I am not only going to be doing yard work, but I'll be doing it in the rain. Maybe my mother would like to go help in my place. lol

Half of my prayer request has been answered... the sun came out. I guess I should be more specific with God- I need *SUN* so I can get a photo of that SHADOW on the barn up the road for my final project. *whines* 4pm is when the shadow of the tree hugs the barn. that is 30 minutes away. the clouds keep obscuring the bright sunlight. Anyone got any cheese? ~ezri
