ORIGINAL: L5FanLady Talking about scammers.....I just checked craigslist for the Nashville, TN area just for the fun of it, and found THIS gorgeous violin for a knockout deal! Only the seller is like 11 hours away, so, I decide to go a little closer to home and searched the Grand Rapids, MI Craigslist, and oh my! LOOK WHAT I FOUND!! On a hunch, I went to the Miami, FL Craigslist, and YUP, I found THIS. SCAMMER![8|] (Edited to get my links right![;)]) Am I not seeing the problem? Besides the too good to be true price, the guy clearly states that the violin will be shipped- sounds more like he's trying to hit a wide audience without paying the fees on ebay. Of course there are people posting get rich quick schemes and looking for one night stands (do NOT go in the personals section), but you learn to recognize the usual scams quickly and be cautious about the rest. What I found that definitely didn't sound right was that he was saying he was FROM each of the cities he posted it under. He could have just said (if he was legit) that the violin is in such-and-such city, and email or call in interested, etc. etc. And you are right, it is a too-good-to-be-true price. He should have just went ebay! The fees aren't that bad.[8|]
