I can't see the videos at work, but I'll sure look at them tonight! I really wish I could have seen Brent Mitchell! [:(]

He was sad not to see you, too!

Was there any indication of who was gonna sing tenor for the group?

Dinana -> RE: Debut of an exciting new SG group! (5/13/2008 9:01:54 AM)

No, I still don't know if they've decided on a tenor and I don't know if they've picked a name yet from all of the entries that were submitted. I'll try to find out about those things in the next lilttle while and report back. Brent really does sound good with them but he's not wanting to travel as much as they are planning to.

Daystar if not mistaken was done by Cathedrals.

"Daystar" was recorded by the Cathedrals on the 1988 Goin' In Style project with Gerald Wolfe handling the lead vocal.

The Gaither Vocal Band also recorded the song. The song was on Back Home In Indiana, but they could have recorded it before then.

OK. I've been working hard to get all of the videos processed and posted. Here's my review of the "No Name" part of the concert last Friday. (A local group "The Alabamians" and the Mark Trammell Trio were also on the program.) Songs are posted in the order they were performed.

Mary Was the First One (to Carry the Gospel) - They did several GVB songs. This isn't my favorite, however, and the video didn't turn out so great, so I'm not posting it. They did have a live band, but everyone didn't seem to get really warmed up and synched up until after this song.

Gonna Be Movin' - great song and I really enjoyed hearing it again from some of the original MMQ members. The sound on this video was kind of distorted so I didn't post it either!!

Somebody Touched Me - featuring Brent Mitchell who did a great job on it! VIDEO

Singing with the Saints - another GVB song - VIDEO

The Prodigal Son - one of my favorite of Josh's featured songs! VIDEO

Daystar - didn't GVB do this one, too?? This featured Craig West and was really nice. VIDEO

I Can See the Hand - I already posted a video of this one (see previous post) because it was probably my favorite of the evening!

Going Home - fantastic song featuring Chris West. Nobody does this better than Chris! VIDEO

Midnight Cry - featuring Josh Feemster. This gives me chill bumps every single time I hear it! VIDEO

He Came Down to My Level - another great GVB song. Loved it! VIDEO

I Bowed on My Knees - Craig West is just outstanding on this song! VIDEO

Then, at the end of the concert when all the groups were on-stage, this was part of "I'll Fly Away" featuring Brent Mitchell. VIDEO

Thanks so much for the links! I've listened to a couple of them, and I'm really enjoying them.[:)]

Great! I'm glad you're enjoying them. The sound quality wasn't very good on the videos and I know that my sitting on the front row didn't help!!

Well, I for one still got the impression that this is gonna be a BIG name (whatever name they settle upon, that is) in SG! I'm seeing a 2009 Horizon Group Of The Year!

Dinana -> RE: Debut of an exciting new SG group! (5/13/2008 8:23:58 PM)

They are wonderful, but I'm waiting until I see who their tenor turns out to be and what kind of schedule they go for before I see them as the Horizon group!!!

Are they keeping the live band? That'd be a welcome thing!

I thought the live band was just for that night, but I could be wrong. I'll ask my friend Norm when I talk to him in the next few days.

I remember back when Josh Feemster left Mercy's Mark and there were rumblings that he was starting the group with Chris, Craig, and an unnamed fourth member, the rumor said they were planning for a live band.

Brent,
You will never know how many people you and Mercy's Mark touched with your unique sound. It was a very personal witness to my wife and me. We hope Moulton can spare you for the road and that your plans include the NQC in September.

If I am not mistaken the band is the worship band at Sumatain Church of God and would be doing that but I could be wrong.

It would be wonderful to see Brent at NQC! I really hope that he "signs up" with another group soon!
