Former teacher Debra Lafave whom had sex with a 14 year old student a few years ago her house arrest sentence was reduced to probation. So once again young,and pretty wins out. Thus my impression of "Equal Justice Under The Law" is a big joke... HA!!! A man or average lookin woman would still be in prison...

When rich guys are getting away with murder on a consistent basis I expected the gender gap to be closed in some method. [&:]

She looks good . . . . that 14 year old boy didn't have a chance, it isn't right that she gets soft treatment because she's a good looking woman.

Heck most grown men wouldn't stand a chance against her or SOME of the female teachers that have targeted boys and girls.

You must read GAVIN DE BECKER . .. he's right on that notion. Many more rich dudes get away with murder that you seldom hear about.

However as Dominick Dunne's "Power, Privelige and Justice" shows you SOMETIMES the uber rich do get hard time in the slammer.

The judge should have been thrown in the slammer with her. She is pretty, but, so? It will not always be so, throwing her in the slammer for a few years, with no make-up or hair, she would be just another average looking woman. So it would have been ok, trust me.

i remember that. The lawyer did actually make a "she's too hot to go to jail" argument (not in those exact words, but clearly what he was saying) and I was always shocked the judge bought it. yes, she would have gotten picked on, but it isn't just the prettiest ones that get picked on and abused in jail. It was just ridiculous and the fact that the reduced it to probation is even worse. What's the difference between her and that gal who had several children with her student, but still served a prison sentence (her name is on the tip of my tongue)? Was it just that the other lady was older? In both cases, they are having sex with CHILDREN. I don't care if she is Miss America.

Well actually the other woman was very attractive also, Mary Kay something? Though she did not look like Debra, who could have stared in David Lee Roths video " Hot For Teacher", Mary was more of a just pretty, in a clean looking sort of way. Though we know that ivory girl look was a joke. Throw her in the slammer, what sort of message is that judge sending?

The message I got from that reduction for her appearance is that there is a double standard at work.

I remember a few years ago in Michigan. A male teacher plead to improperly touching a male student. He got 18 months in prison. But yet some of these teachers are doing the actual act of sex. One would think that touching would get one probation. But yet the pretty female teacher got the slap on the wrist..
