Please pray for my dad. He may be facing cancer for the 3rd time.

Four years ago he had one of his kidneys removed because it has cancer. They were able to remove all the cancer and he did not have to do any follow-up.

Two years ago he had the upper lobe of his left lung removed and went through a round of chemo because he had lung cancer (he is a non-smoker) that was totally unrelated to the kidney cancer two years previous.

Yesterday he was at a follow up appt. with his oncologist where he found out they have found two spots on his right lung. They could either be the kidney cancer or the lung.

The next step is they are going to schedule a PET scan and then they will do a biopsy to determine which kind of cancer it is so they can determine which course of treatment is needed. My mom said the oncologist was was rather optomistic about the prognosis whichever cancer it is, but I know that my dad is not looking forward to having to go through surgery and chemo again.

Anyway, my family could just use some extra prayer right now. Thank You!

Dear Father, I just lift this family up to You. Father, if it is within Your will remove this cancer completely. Be with Leslie's dad as he faces this and undergoes whatever treatment is needed. Please give him and the whole family, Your peace and comfort during this time. Help them to draw close to You as they're strength and comfort. Meet evry need Lord. In Jesus name. Amen

I am so sorry your dad is going through this again..I lift him up to you Lord, right now and I pray for him, to have strength and comfort knowing you will be there right next to him. I pray please that you just remove this cancer in the name of Jesus, and heal him completely please Lord...Please protect this precious father and that leslie feels your loving arms around her at this time as well...

Just want to let you know that my dad's PET scan is scheduled for Monday morning at 7:30. My mom is praying for a miracle. I want to....but all I can pray right now is, "Lord, increase my faith."

Here's an update...The results of the PET scan showed that the spots are cancer. So, the next step is a biopsy next week to determine the kind. They will only be able to biopsy the larger spot.
We have two prayers right now...
1. That the doctors can get a clear result from the biopsy. It will have a dramatic impact on treatment.
2. That the biopsy will clearly show that it is the renal cancer from 4 years ago. The oncologist said that this would be the preferred result for two reasons:
a. It has been four years since the last recurrence of this kind of caner and the farther away you are, the better case senario.
b. It would not require surgery. If it is renal cancer, they will treat it with chemotherapy. My dad's cousin is a year or so into this exact same treatment and her spots are gone...she is officially in remission.
