Does anyone know if there are any races (marathon, half marathon, triathlon, etc) that are used as fundraisers for Christian charities? For example, there are races I've seen where people raise money to be in the race and the money goes to a specific charity (breast cancer research, arthritis foundation, etc). Is there anything similar that is used to raise money for Christian charities?

I live in San Diego, but would be interested in hearing about anything in the US...

Thanks!

I am sure there are, but you have to look. I know that one of the pastors at our church runs for many causes and he has an artificial leg. Do you belong to a big church? You can go to someone in that type of ministry and see. I know that my husband plays softball for our church but that is as far as we have gotten in that area.

I'm in Ohio. I know there are a couple. This is the first one I found: http://www.thevineyardchurch.us/events/5krun/ .

The website I find for races is: http://www.runningintheusa.com/RacesByState.asp?State=OH&Month=0 . Pick your state, pick your event/distance, and it will give you a listing.
