quote:
ORIGINAL: TomTurn I sure did mess up a couple of possibilites and very sad over some who did not feel the same about me. Please let me encourage you, Tom. My husband was 31 when he met me, and he wasn't exactly what you'd call a lady-killer. He had dated very little, and girls just didn't take him seriously. Personally, I think God did that to protect him until he met me. He knew within three dates that I was the one! Ps. 84:11 says God doesn't withhold any good thing, so I think your "possibilities" weren't as good for you as what God has planned (read: God's wife for your life will be a better match than what you've seen so far). Hang in there and keep growing in grace and love; you are building the foundation of your marriage right now. And rejoice that you didn't get hung up with the others; something better is coming!

My husband and I met through an on-line discussion forum similar to this one. He responded privately to something that I had posted. (He had never posted.) I knew, on reading that very first e-mail, that this was the man I would spend the rest of my life with. And that was over 8 years ago. Dusty

My hubby and I met at college. We became friends first (for about 6 months) before deciding that there was something between us. We'd only been dating for 3 weeks when I found a lump in my breast. With my family history (mom, g'mom, aunts, etc) of breast cancer (both sides), my doc rushed me through all the testing so we could schedule a surgery ASAP. The day I got my surgery scheduled, I dropped by his apartment to talk to him. I told him what was going on and then I said,"Look, we've only been seeing each other for a few weeks. I want to let you know that I don't expect anything from you. I know this is alot to deal with, so if you don't think you're up for it, I'll understand completely... and I won't think any less of you if you choose to say goodbye." He just asked me when the surgery was. The day I came home from the hospital, he was waiting with a bunch of daisies, a sackful of movies, and take-out chinese. He spent all day with me - just entertaining me... When he left that evening, he kissed me on the forehead, and told me to call him if I needed anything. In the 4 miserable days post-op waiting for my lab results to come back, he was literally at my beck-and-call. And when the lab called to tell me that my tumor was benign, the relief I saw on his face when I told him, spoke volumes about his feelings for me. I thought to myself that any man who would cowboy-up like that, after only 3 weeks, was definitely something very special. And he is.... We just celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary....

Hello everyone! How I met Peter was an answer to prayer. When I was walking to church, I believe it was a Saturday evening, praying on my way to Church to find a godly man, and a musician, but the most important thing was a godly man, for a husband. It was right after I broke up with a boyfriend who was of a different faith. I was a senior in high school. The next year, when I was in college, I was laid off of work in January. I was looking for a job. So I thought of this music store because I go there for my music supplies. So I thought I can work there. I called up, and I remember Peter answering. I don't remember if it was the first time I called the shop though. But anyway, Peter answered the call, and we started talking for a couple of days wile he was at work. He would tell me that he didn't know if I could work there or not, but he wanted to introduce me to one of his friends or something. So instead of talking over the phone while he was at work, he gave me his cell phone number. So I called a few days later on a friday. I remember asking him "Where were you at work?" I didn't know he was off. So at that point, we started to talk as friends. I remember when Peter told me his full name, I remember saying to him "you have a very biblical name." So we started at that point to talk about spiritual things. It was on and off in January, I remember not really talking to him that much. But we really started to talk in February, and that is when I started to have feelings for him. I do remember my first personal encounter with him was when I had just gotten off of work, and it was his birthday. We were both nervous. Well, a couple of weeks after that, on March 11th, he said he wanted to go to Church with me. (I was a member of the Roman Catholic Church at that time). So we started going to church together after that point. Our first real date was a week later, on March 19th, 2006. It was on St Patricks day. We went to a restaurant. I knew from that day forward that Peter was the one for me, and my answer to prayer. I also remember telling him "from this day froward, I am yours." We courted for 5 months, then got officially engaged in September of 2006. Now, almost 2 years later, we are getting married June 21, 2008. Just a little over a month from now. Your sister in Christ Jesus, Jessica

We met towards the end of Sept 2003, chatted a few times after church, and then at the beginning of December he asked me on our first date. We were married four and a half months after our first date, and have just celebrated four years of marriage.

I met dh on Mothers Day 1996. We had gone from GA to ND for a job for my dad walked into a restaurant as I walked into this restaurant the hair on the back of my neck stood up and he walked around the corner. I told my mom that moment I would marry him didn't even know his name. Went to his softball game 2 days later. Got a job working in the same restaurant as him and requested the graveyard shift since that is the one he worked. We spent a lot of time together working. Meet his family July 10. Was engaged June 2. Originally we had planned to get married in February but my parents were going to another job so we got married august 6. Be married 12 years in August and have 4 kids.

I was a 19 yr old Royal Marine serving on the streets of Belfast at the height of the troubles in 1973. I saw a lovely girl to whom I was drawn like I had never been drawn before. I knew she was the one as soon as I spoke to her. We were married the following year, and celebrate 34 years marriage this year. 3 wonderful children and 2 grandchildren later, I love her as much now as I did then. The most wonderful blessing that the Lord has given me.

I knew pretty much from the beginning. Crazy as that sounds, that's how it was. I tend to think the Lord (knowing I was too stupid to understand these kinds of things) made it obvious.
