I didn't see this anywhere. Maybe I just missed it. Have you seen this?

I don't know how this got posted in Election. I think the flux capacitor on my computer is broken. . .

Mods, if you could move it back over, that would be super! Thanks, you're the best!

earthless -> RE: Two-faced Indian Baby (4/14/2008 2:50:09 PM)

Yeah, saw it a few weeks ago when it first hit the Internet viral video circles. Is the baby still alive?

WesP -> RE: Two-faced Indian Baby (4/14/2008 3:43:11 PM)

As of yesterday, the baby is still alive and well. The saddest part of this story is not the birth defect, but the people who are worshipping her as a reincarnation of a goddess. [:(]

stampinlady -> RE: Two-faced Indian Baby (4/14/2008 3:46:54 PM)

Wow.

NoDumbBlonde -> RE: Two-faced Indian Baby (4/14/2008 4:21:59 PM)

How tragic for this child. I wonder what her prognosis/life expectancy or future medical problems she may have from this. I guess they assume that this disfigured child is it. It's hard to say which is more tragic: the child being so disfigured or the masses that worship her in a desperate attempt to find some kind of hope.

Julie1955 -> RE: Two-faced Indian Baby (4/14/2008 7:49:58 PM)

I also heard that the doctors want to do a CT scan/ MRI to check out the baby's brain development or lack thereof, but the villagers are worshipping this child as the reincarnation of a (Hindu) goddess. The parents are desperately poor, so they couldn't afford the scanning procedure.

3cappuccinosmom -> RE: Two-faced Indian Baby (4/14/2008 9:19:35 PM)

I'm sure some generous soul will pony up the money for a CT scan in the name of science. [&:]

I have mixed feelings. I think it's terribly sad that she is being worshipped and celebrated as the reincarnation of a goddess. On the other hand, she's far more fortunate than many poor Indian females, as she is going to be cherished and honored because of that.

Well you can't blame them. This village in one of the poorest parts of India where religion is one of the most important things. If I was in that situation with little or no education I might even believe it.

lightshineon -> RE: Two-faced Indian Baby (4/14/2008 10:34:15 PM)

I read that both faces (suck) eat, blink and cry. She is strange looking, but cute in her way. The parents do not want help for her.

I am not placing blame anywhere. I am just saddened that people are so lost.

Intelligent Design at work again?

sunshine4God -> RE: Two-faced Indian Baby (4/15/2008 11:22:12 PM)

Wow,That is too weird.She is cute though but boy is that funky looking.

Zhi -> RE: Two-faced Indian Baby (4/15/2008 11:33:17 PM)

Well, we have people praying at images of "Christ" or "Mary" in a mold stain on a wall or a grilled cheese sandwich, so... *shrug* *sigh*

OneOfHisJewels -> RE: Two-faced Indian Baby (4/16/2008 2:35:26 AM)

They keep saying two faces, but I think she might actually have two brains as well, albeit attached to each other. It seems like a very severe case of Siamese twins...even more severe than the case of the Minnesota twins Abby and Brittney where the girls shared one whole body, but two seperate heads. Anyway, it's very sad, it's sometimes hard to understand why God would even create someone to have to go through something like that, but God knows what He is doing..and it's a good reality check to see something like that when one is tempted to feel sorry for oneself.

I also hope they feed both mouths, because even if there is only one stomach, each mouth could still feel hungry and thirsty.

I had a flute teacher that once had worked in a home for the severely deformed.. she even mentioned seeing people with deformities like half another face on their cheek. It was sad. She said a lot of times it was because they were children of prostitutes and there were drugs and STDs involved. I'm not saying this baby's mother is a prostitute, don't get me wrong, I'm just saying that with their living conditions there could be economic or environmental factors that helped cause this.

I wonder, if when she grows older if both faces will function, talk to each other, etc, or if one will be more dormant. That will kind of reveal if there are two brains, or just one.

vixir -> RE: Two-faced Indian Baby (4/16/2008 9:55:56 AM)

If she's their God reincarnated, then their God has reincarnated more than once.

lightshineon -> RE: Two-faced Indian Baby (4/16/2008 4:04:08 PM)

well our Father in heaven loves that baby, she is precious in his sight.

Ha ha.. as a former atheist and Darwinian adherent I can appreciate the jab.

Sin has definitely taken its toll on our genes.

Maybe it's God's way of showing us how truly two-faced we have become.
Is it ironic that this is an election year?

lightshineon -> RE: Two-faced Indian Baby (4/16/2008 5:36:19 PM)

Oh, please guy's don't make fun of her, she is just a tiny baby.[&o]

Well, I hope not. I thought this thread was going to be an outpouring of compassion for that poor little girl, but I haven't really seen that. OK, to be fair, I just read back over the thread, and there was more than I was thinking, but I'd like to see more.
