We used to make Monkey Bread all the time when I was a kid (my mother in law calls it Pluck-it Bread, but it's the same thing). Every time we made it, my dad asked us if we went to the zoo and picked up some monkeys. Every. Single. Time. Dads are so funny

I don't make Monkey Bread any more, though, because the first time I made it by myself (right after getting married), I accidently caught it on fire Yep, I was the sheltered kid who never learned to use the oven before moving out of her parents house.

Yucky Chicken. Don't know what it's really called. My brothers hated this dish and renamed it Yucky Chicken and we still call it that today: I love it though.

Meat dumplings tied up with threads; I used to be filled with loathing when my mom would cook this dish.

Also, animals organs which I used to find difficult to eat even tho I admit some of them were tasty.

Swamp Meat, but that is a family joke for this dish my Dad made once(and only once). It was a chicken with herbs in some sort of sauce, in the end it looked like a mucky swamp with sticks(herb twigs) poking up.

I have a cake recipe called Grand Slam Supreme....which has nothing to do with what the cake is. It's a layer of strawberries covered with white chocolate, whipped cream, and some other stuff....you would think it would be "berry delight" or berries and cream... it makes me think of some sort of baseball themed dish!

Whoopie Pies.

When I was very young, a neighbor gave my mom a recipe for Whoopie Pies. They seem to be rather common up north but I rarely find anyone in the south who knows what they are. They are still my brothers all time fav dessert. I never can find a good recipe for them. I hope my mom still has it.

I'm guessing they're the same as Rocky mountain oysters ~ and I didn't need to google to find that out!

Doo Doo Cake (can i say that?)

the nastiest thing my mother makes, that i still don't eat to this day, is something she calls Hamburger Pie.
the thought of it makes me nauseated.
