Dead Poetic. I hate that band.

Underoath - I love metalcore, but the lyrics of this band are not that great. Their song "moving for the sake of motion" ends with the words, "I can't keep swimming! Can't keep my head up!" if they would have thrown in after that, "Keep my head up oh my God" or some similar thing, I would be all for it. By simply looking at their lyrics, I could not even tell that they were a Christian band. I guess they can technically be called one because they claim to be Christians, and their lyrics dont have any vulgar words in them. still, i dont consider them a Christian band. I'll let God decide whether they themselves are Christians, but I can conclude for myself that their music is not Christian.

The Showdown - First, I will mention this point that is not as important as the second point. they call themselves a heavy metal band, but their cr ap isnt metal. now, more importantly, by their lyrics in their song "fanatics and whores" i would conclude that they are not a Christian band. look up the lyrics if you wish. They do not have any graphic sexual stuff in them as the "whore" part of the name suggests. it just seems kind of anti Christian. perhaps you could interpret a different way than i did. i'd like to see your thoughts on this.

how about all the Christian contemporary pop bands, we'll start there:

I can admit that The Showdown is what Rebel has said about it. I don't listen to them anyway....
UnderOath has disappointed me in the same way. BUT their album "They're only chasing Safety"(2004) was good, and the song "Some Will Seek Forgiveness, Others Escape" still. rocks.

I can't really point out the other ones....because if I don't like it I don't listen to it and I forget about it :P

Hmm, I'm not going to start naming names, it wouldn't be productive. But I'd say the worst Christian bands are the ones that you can't tell are Christian, even by looking up the lyrics on the 'net!

UnderOath rocks. Now the Showdown used to be good, until their new cd. It aint metal. Its southern rock. Their old one had a worship-ish song "laid to rest". So does underOath. "To Whom It May Concern". And I think most of the lyrics of underOath are about pain in this life and trying to search for the answer, God.

because they want to get all the hurting kids in the mainstream to get into their stuff, then they go to concerts and preach about how cool God is and stuff. Did you know Spencer Chamberlain used to be a drug addict so he shares his testimony. I think they want to get kids in the mainstream. Listen to "Some Will Seek Forgiveness, Others Escape". It's a cool worship song.

the only "christian" bands i really like are FIF and jars of clay. thats...pretty much the only christian ones i listen to. though i remember hearing a jeremy camp song and i hated it, so i'll say him [&:]

so two people agree, the song is awesome.

I do see what Rebel means about not mentioning the final answer, GOD. But I also see and agree with Pete (tis a first!). That's kind of what Kids in the Way is doing...

btw.. their lead, Dave, is short. I stood next to him and he's about the same height as I am, maybe an inch or two taller. haha

I hated Kids in the Way's "Apparitions of Melody" CD because the lyrics at first, then I realized it and now I like that CD, instead of just the song "Breaking the Legs of Sheep". Their first will always be their best though.

Yeah.. I actually had never heard of them until that night when my friend took me with her to their concert. I ended up buying the CD, getting it autographed, and played it like a million times. haha

"Even Snakes have Hearts" was my favorite.

their latest one is actually better then I thought it would be.
