Chicken Divan- this is actually my SIL's recipe so if it's a family gathering, I make her make it. But if it's a friend's house, I do bring it...her recipe has curry in it.
Dump Cake- for dessert
and I also make this Fruit Salad quicky from a can. Everybody seems to like it.

Hi honey~

May I have the recipe please?

I'd love to share it.

Israeli Salad

3 cucumbers ( I either use the Persian or English, but regular ones work too just clean out the seeds)
5 tomatoes
1 greenpepper
1 red pepper
1 onion
green onions (about 4)
10 black olives (I use kalamata - Greek olives)
4 tbs olive oil
juice of 1/2 lemon (or more if you like it more lemony)
salt, pepper, parsley, ground cumin (optional)
pine nuts (optional)

Dice the veggies very small
Slice the olives
Place veggies in large bowl and add the salt, pepper, oil and lemon juice
Mix well and sprinke chopped parsley and or pine nuts on top

This is a salad where you can add other things if you like - like chopped avocados, shredded cabbage, chopped carrots.
In Israel this is a standard salad. When you order salad, this is what you will get.
Enjoy!

Thanks Anisavta! Funny I just realized that I already make this salad especially when the weather gets warmer which it is right now.

In mine I just use tomatoes, parsley, lettuce, scallion, same dressing you used and then I add ground wheat soaked in water.

Yours is great for a change or for festive holidays. I will definitely add it to my recipe archives!!!

Thanks hon again for sharing! [;)]

Thank you for sharing your recipe. It sounds good and I am planning to try it this week-end.

This is the Israeli Salad Recipe I use:

4 small plum tomato

1/4 cup fresh mint leaves (optional)
1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
3-4 tablespoons olive oil
1 lemon, juice of
salt
pepper

1.Finely chop the vegetables.
2.Lightly mix with the remaining ingredients.
3.Serve at room temperature.

Oh, I didn't even see that Anisvata posted hers...nevermind![sm=blush.gif]

Thanks for reminding me, Kat, that you can add mint or dill. I really like it with the mint. In Israel my Russian friends add dill to everything and the salad is no exception.
