Okay, since I started a thread about Roger Bennett's songs, I thought I would start one about Bill and Gloria Gaither's songs too.

Of all the songs they have written, which is your favorite?

Mine is The King Is Coming, especially the Ray Boltz version. I love that one! Guy Penrod's part with the GVB is pretty good too.

"It is Finished" would have to be in the top 10 gospel songs of all time!
"Because He Lives" would have to be #1. On Easter Sunday just a few weeks ago at my church it was awesome to hear the congregation sing this song. My husband leaned over and whispered just think this song is being sang in nearly 90% of the churches in the world today! What a song! My question is why didnt the other 10% sing it! lol...

Probably my second would have to be Because He Lives, though.[:)]

(Note to NewNameGirl--not all churches in the world know English, and I doubt the song has been translated into every language yet.)

Because He Lives would be my favorite, followed closely by He Touched Me. They have written a host of great songs that would be worthy of this honor.

The King is Coming, followed by Going Home. Going Home was the title song of our second album circa 1973.

There is no way I could pick one favorite! It would be hard to even narrow it down to 5!! I do love all of the ones that have already been mentioned.

It is on their 1976 project Easy On The Ears, Heavy On The Heart. It is the first song on side two of the LP. Glen sings the first verse and Roy Tremble sings the second. I love it!

Sinner Saved By Grace is my favorite. I play it most every day.

Oh my goodness!! It's hard to always remember all the songs that Gaither has written! Sinner Saved By Grace IS MY MOST FAVORITE!!![sm=thumbsup.gif]

I like all the songs mentioned but Because He Lives is myabsolute favorite.

I have left instructions with Mrs. K to have it (and Sinner Saved By Grace) at my funeral.

Still working on a third selection.
