Either way though, I would read. I am far from a SG officiano but I have definitely reconnected with some of the music, and the timing of all that has been important to me right now.

That is neat!

Thank you Daniel. It started with David Phelps really and has continued you grow. Every saturday night I watch Classic Gospel on PBS and between that and these threads I am learning the elders AND the newer ones and you sure can't beat the messages of the music.

Neat! David Phelps has an amazing voice and has done some amazing songs over his career.

I decided to stay in our beloved Southern Gospel folder because of:

1. The voting results.

2. The joy I felt hearing that some of my favorite people had developed an interest in SG after coming to my threads.

3. The poignant pleas of folks who I like and respect (especially if said people have provided me with food in the past).

4. And especially

Besides . . . if you keep it here in SG, I'll give ya another pound of Jack's Kona.

Picture prison with inmates banging metal cups against metal tables, chanting:

Kona! Kona! Kona!

Oh. My.

If they're that hyped up already, perhaps I don't need to be supplying them with caffeine.

Perhaps, instead . . . a couple of nice relaxing yoga sessions would be in order.

The poll neglected to include some valid options--

What should we do with Kerrlaw? Really think about that question--what should we do with Kerrlaw? So many possible things we could do!

--play poker
--eat spam
--boil peanuts
--watch college basketball
--watch Mrs. K boil live lobsters
--bail out deadbeat dads so they can pay child support
--write city beer ordinances
--tease qtman
--tell silly jokes
--listen to him sing

--play poker - I'll pass. I stink at poker.
--eat spam - NEVER!
--boil peanuts - I'll try them but no promises...
--watch college basketball - And while you all are doing that, I'll play games on the computer
--watch Mrs. K boil live lobsters - I'll pass... poor little fellas...
--bail out deadbeat dads so they can pay child support - Sorry...
--write city beer ordinances - That could be interesting...
--tease qtman - I'm game!
--tell silly jokes - Can we limit how many puns are told though?
--listen to him sing Should I be afraid?

I realize that I am jumping in here after the decision is made (everyone needs an Amen corner), but I have not been online for a few days. I am happy that you left it where it is. I almost never venture outside the SG folder. The only reason I ever joined the forums was because of my love for SG music, and the desire to discuss it with others of similar likes. During the process I have made many other forum friends with whom I have found common ground, whether it be in music, sports, or otherwise. I appreciate Kerrlaw's honesty and thoughtfullness as well as his humor and wit, and having met him personally, I like him a bunch. If the Kerrlaw thread draws more folks to the SG folder, then that is a good thing.
