Listening to my Gold City albums from the 80's brings back so many good memories.

I agree with you! I just heard "There Rose A Lamb" on the radio tonight...I'm thinking that Mike L. wasn't on that album (Pillars of the Faith), but even then the blend with Brian, Ivan and Tim was so good. Their band made their live albums incomparable to what is out today.

is true. a live album done over tracks isnt really live in my opinion. I Think I'll Read It Again, Still Small Voice, John Saw, In My Robe Of White. good solid fast live songs

When I was somewhere between 10 and 12, Mom bought an aerobics cassette which had songs by Amy Grant, BJ Thomas, and some other contemporary artists but it had two songs by the Happy Goodman Family including one called "Only the Sound of His Trumpet." I fell in love with the song immediately and set out to find anything I could about them and their music (which wasn't easy at the time). Most people I encountered had never heard of Southern Gospel music and those who had didn't seem to care for it.

A couple years after that, I found a radio station which played SG music 24/7 and I was hooked. Then, on May 13, 1989, my mom sacrificed and paid for a ticket for me to go see Gold City. I don't think I'd been to a concert prior to that where the singers were available to meet people, and all of the members of GC were so friendly. They each hold a special place in my heart to this day. I am so thankful that God led me to this music and that He continues to use it to minister to me.

My first memory is going listening to Jeff and Sheri Easter. My mom played it all the time. My older brothers were hooked on GC by the time I was 7-8. Then my oldest brother MattPaasch really got hooked on all southern gospel. I heard it all the time, and I actually thought that there were two kinds of "Christian Music": Hymns and Southern Gospel. LOL. So I guess you could say I was raised on Southern Gospel.

My first memory of Southern Gospel music was when I was four. It was the Hopper Brothes & Connie. From that day I have seen many Southern Gospel greats and I haven't stopped listening to Southern Gospel since those early days.

My first memory was my dad playing old 78's of the Chuck Wagon Gang.

My first concert was to see the Kenny Parker Trio, The Orrells and the Downings.

I remember Mull's on Sunday Mornings but through the week it was the Singing Echoes because Max Epperson is my momma's brother. When I came to the Lord Mid South Boys really got my attention tho.
