ORIGINAL: StephK All this to say is that being prepared for what may happen isn't always acting out of fear. God did prompt Joseph to prepare ahead of time so that there would be food for during the famine. THANK YOU for that. That very exact same thing popped into my head early this morning as I was thinking of this post. I think we, as a whole, tend to think that God's miraculous provision will always appear as manna from heaven, but he provides as he sees fit. Who's to say that urging his people to pay attention to things around them and be prepared isn't his way of providing? I can for sure tell you that without the grocery/household goods stockpile I have stored up, we'd never have been able to make it these past few months with 20% of our bring-home income going into the gas pump. But, we've survived it, and I thank God for giving me the wisdom and knowledge to shop the way I do. Proverbs 6:6-8 Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.
