Hello everyone. I just had a couple quick questions for you all regarding Christian Metal. OK, first of all I am just looking for some awesome Christian metal bands, it can be nu-metal, thrash, heavy, just anything metal. The 2nd question is, I was wondering where I could purchase some of this stuff online? Some Christian bands I already know: Red, Demon Hunter, The Showdown, Emery, August Burns Red, Norma Jean, Kutless, Stryper. Thanks.

Maylene and the Sons of Disaster is similar. IMHO, better than The Showdown.
Also, The Advent, August Burns Red, Mortification, Vengeance, Becoming the Archetype, xDeathstarx, Disciple, Kiss the Gunner, Living Sacrifice, Mortal Treason, Mychildren Mybride, Nema, Tourniquet, Underneath the Gun, With Blood Comes Cleansing are all good.

What do you mean a CD guy? I'm looking to purchase them online via CD. I've only heard the first one, which is the only one I have, I want to get the other one though. What is the main difference between the 2?

Oh. When you said 'online' I thought you meant buying mp3's.
On their second album they gave up the screaming and double bass pedal for a Metallica/Pantera sound, which is very different from the first. Like someone said above me, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster is the closest thing.

I always try Amazon.com first. If for whatever reason you don't want to shop at Amazon then Buy.com is your next best bet IMHO.
If you prefer a Christian retailer maybe christianbook.com can help but I suspect they won't carry the Christian metal on secular labels.

Just googled "buying Christian metal" and got interesting sites but no place to buy. Blastbeats.com sells Chrisatian metal CDs but the site doesn't look like its been updated in awhile. Use at your own risk. Of course Family Bookstores and Lifeway have sites where you can order the Christian metal on Christian labels.
I still think Amazon is the place of least resistance. They have a marketplace section where you can order from small independent sellers instead of the main site. For each entry click on buying options. Its cheaper and you get to support the little guy but not all sellers will be as good.

I'm not a fan of much of Solid State's lineup, but you can search for my recent posts on bands. I do a rock/metal show so I'm fairly involved in the scene. Since you're into the more extreme vox, Firestream.net is a place you should visit.
As for buying online, Blastbeats seems up in the air these days so I'd recommend Shaver's Audio & Video, Radrockers, CD Baby, ChristianDiscs, Crossing Music, Girder Music, Nordic Mission and Soundmass.

On iTunes they have Solid State Records samplers for $5. It has some good sonsg on it.

August Burns Red is one of the best ones you'll find.
Blindside is probably my all time fave, but they aren't really considered metal.
Thrice (not classified as Christian, but are more Christian than many "Christian" bands)
Haste the Day
Cry of the Afflicted
Dead Poetic
Destroy the Runner
Spoken
The Devil Wears Prada
Underoath
Like I said, these aren't necessarily "metal" bands, but they are all good nonetheless.

It's called Hangar Radio Z - CLICK HERE TO LISTEN and if you click "Z Late Night" you see Z Revolution, that's when they play that type of music. The rest of the time they play Christian Hit music (Rock, Pop, Hip Hop). I prefer the regular music to the late night, because I don't like bands that are primarily screamo.
That's just me though.
It's on a whole bunch of frequencies in the Upstate of South Carolina, or on just one frequency on HD Radio.

Awesome guys, thanks for all the replies! I wish we had more of a Christian Metal station around here. We do have a Christian station, but it's like pop/rock stuff like that.
