Maybe it's just a sign of old age, but I have discovered comfort sandals and it's likely going to be difficult to get me to wear anything else this spring and summer. I am having difficulty with my left foot (the podiatrist appointment is still three weeks away!) and generally have to wear a bunion spacer between the big toe and the next toe, which I don't need with these sandals. These shoes also help with lower body problems (knee, hip and back aches) and with arch issues.

And...many styles of comfort sandals are designed similar to walking/running/athletic shoes, so you can walk in them, comfortably, for long periods.

Has anyone else tried them? What did you think? I have two pair now -a pair of brown leather slides by Teva (found at Marshalls for like $20) and a pair of SoftShoes (imported from Europe) black suede sandals with adjustable front and back straps (found at Rack Room Shoes for $40).

I've been a fan of Clarks for years. Some of their styles are even feminine instead of clunky looking, like most comfort shoes. Some of their shoes look like they were stolen from a nursing home! [:o] But they are good quality! They are just about the only brand of shoe I buy.

I have experienced that the Privo line isn't high quality, although they are good for knocking around in.

Well, I think the trend is for more fashionable styles, which is a good thing IMO. Before I bought the Teva pair, I had tried out a Bear Mountain pair of slides, and my daughters told me that they looked like an impolite word for "unfeminine" - but as soon as I tried walking in them for a few minutes, they squeaked, so I returned them.

I'm a big fan of comfort, but I love a pretty shoe, too. Is it so bad to combine them?

I don't see how most of America wears the shoes they are in. We went to Disney last month and I couldn't believe the number of people walking in cheap flip-flops. I can't imagine that their feet weren't killing them with all that walking.

I had a pair of Born's that I absolutely loved and I wore them out over 3-4 years. I need to save up and buy me a new pair.

One brand that sometimes I can find a comfy and very feminine sandal/shoe is Aerosoles. They have lots of styles that I can't wear, but some that work for me.

I watch J. Marco's website and catalog, too. Sometimes they have a brand that I have never heard of that looks comfy. Then, I can research the brand and find something good, even if it's not from J. Marco's.

I wear Reef's, most comfortable sandal ever.
