Or how about when you log in and it says 10 unread, and you click ONCE on that, and next is pops up with 2 unread ... ummm -- what were the other 8 threads which now think I've read them??

Yeah, mine just went from 50 to zero to 41. And all I did during that time was answer pms.

I am pretty sure that the thread counter counts pages, not threads. So if a thread has added three pages since your last visit, and you go read the thread, I think your counter goes down by three, not one.

Prior to this, it was counting threads, not pages ... so I'd log onto the PPS thread, for example, and there could be 3 new pages, but it would count down only one (because it was one thread) ... it's just been lately that everything has gone really wonky counter-wise.

I am pretty sure it counts threads not pages.

If that's true, then it should really visit the 'counting on fingers' thread!

It's happening again.

I think it's THIS thread. Really frustrating since one of the things mentioned in that thread was the suggestion of using our "Unread Sub Link."

Did you go to the thread, unsubscribe, and then resub like I suggested in the beginning? I find that almost always solves the problem.

It's linking to page 7, but I had gone in and deleted some posts, so page 7 doesn't exist anymore (yet). Either change the URL to say page 6 (where it says "mpage_7" change it to "mpage_6") or do the unsub/resub thing.

So.. I'm wondering if part of the problem is when posts are deleted, the subscription tries to go to the OLD last page instead of the NEW one. OR... did you have your subs page open for a long time and didn't refresh it? Maybe it needed refreshing after I deleted those posts.

Yesterday, I never did find the problem thread.

I haven't done that today because I've been doing a million other things while being online.

Didn't really work. It showed me page 6, which I have the last post, but then the unread sub link wouldn't work again. I even tried to go to page five and get it to work. It looks like I'll have the problem until the thread reaches 7 pages again, but I have nothing to add. So, I'll have to unsub.

Maybe a few posts should be added. I don't want to do it and be off topic and I've said what I need to say. Maybe someone else has something to add.

Looks like others did, because it's back to page 7 and gave me no problems.
