Wow! Looks like I'm really late to the topic discussion as well!

It's kind of funny, but as a 31-year-old male, I get along fantastically well with the "little old ladies." No, it's true. I have found in my life that a lot of elderly women have been unusually supportive of me (some of them even have a certain amount of pity for my single status!) It's a different story with women my age....a lot of them just seem to act a little aloof or snooty (don't take offense, gals! Rest assured I'm not referring to anyone here!) I just have to wonder what gives? I try to be friendly with everyone...the older gals are much more open with me than the younger ones.

This says alot about you.
There is no one I trust more than little old ladies and children. They are great judges of character. (dogs are pretty good too )

Pre-marriage - I got along better with men. I only had two girl friends that I was close to, the rest of my friends were men.

After marriage and kids - Most all of my friends were women. I am also good friends with many of their husbands. (dated two of them)

Now ? Everyone I know is married. We are still great friends and have been for over twenty years, but since my husband died, the dynamics have changed. I do not feel comfortable when everyone gathers together and I am the only single.

Online - I have more friendships with women.

Same here. It makes it challenging when trying to expand your social circle.

Again, same here. At least they claim to be women.

I am, and always have been, a woman. Well, I was a girl first, but you know what I mean.

This is similar to my situation except, in the divorce all our couples friends didn't want to "take sides" (or something, I don't know for sure, maybe they didn't like me in the first place) so I lost all of them. Now, IRL I don't have any balance in my friendships, it's all women. And I feel......out of balance. I'd give a lot to be included in a "mixed company" gathering. I can hardly make friends with married men and single men are going to think any friendly overtures are something else entirely. It sorta stinks.

Thankfully, I do have guy friends online and they have been life-savers! I think I still have more online women friends but that may just be a numbers thing. There are more women here so the likelihood of finding more women who are of the personality type that I get along with is higher.

Yes, I think having guys as friends may be in the past. Other than the husbands of my girlfriends. It must have been a college age thing.

I have lost some friends in the past from refusing to take sides also! Except it wasn't from divorces though.

I get along fairly well with women because somehow there's always a lot of them around.

I get along with guys too whenever they put in an appearance in my life.

I don't have as many guy friends as female friends. With both groups though the success of the relationship is dependent on the personality of the individual(s).

On the Crosswalk Forums I think I get along with everyone. I haven't heard anyone complain . Well at least not yet.

Men, hands down.
Doesn't mean I hate girls or stuff.
But I find myself getting along better with guys then women.
