Yep, that's it! LOL!

Yeah, it's just like a clearing house for different kinds of consumer info... brochures and posters on everything from food safety to funding for education...

Now they have a fancy website... but back then... they sent you a free catalogue that had listings of all the info available.

Yeah, it really saddens me that I can remember the Preamble better than I can most scripture. I guess if I had Sunday School teachers that taught it in songs I'd still remember it!

Question girls - What were those purchases called w/ the wooden handles & the bag part could be changed out w/ other different color cloth bags via buttons on the handle? I loved that purse. I don't know what I did w/ it! k

You know you're a 70s kid (or girl rather) if you remember those ugly wooden box purses that were painted with jewels on them. Yep, it wasn't just our grandmothers who liked to carry those ugly things. I hated them back then, but they sure were popular. I'm talkin' early 70s.

You know you're a 70s kid if you remember that girls couldn't wear blue jeans to school for part of that era.

I couldn't wear jeans in elementary school, but high school....oh yeah - every day. Our high school was really liberal, we even had a smoking area for students.

I don't remember what they were called, but my mom had one.

I was far too cool to carry one

I could wear denim pants but not blue ones until I was a junior in high school.

once...I just didn't like anything clingy - even though, back then my figure could've handled it, too.

I stuck with jeans and halter tops

"Frampton Comes Alive" the still largest selling live album of all time?

Not from what I've read.
quote:

The album became the biggest selling live album at the time of its release and sold over 6 million copies in the US, 16 million worldwide. It has since dropped to fourth all-time, after The Garth Brooks album Double Live, which at 20 times platinum is the best selling live album of all time at present. Bruce Springsteen is next at 13 times with Bruce Springsteen & E Street Band Live 1975 - '85 and The Eagles come in next with Eagles Live at 7 times platinum. Frampton Comes Alive! is 6 times platinum

Frampton never appealed to me. I never understood why that album sold so much.

I wasn't overly crazy about Frampton either. Then again, I was never crazy about Garth Brooks either.

I give Frampton his due as a great guitarist, but I think the album sold so much because it tapped into a feeling that was so prevalent in the 70s.

So, I'm not cool! Those purses were extremely popular where I come from. I live in a college town. You want to tell the college gals they weren't cool? kd

I did too. I thought I looked so fine.

I remember the day the article appeared in the paper that the school board decided to allow Jeans, it was in 1969. My friend showed up the next day in them and was sent home.

I really hated wearing dresses to school. If we walked to school in the winter we'd wear heavy pants under the dress but had to take them off when we got there.

LOL I remember those shirts!

My brother had to wear a shirt and tie on game day and he had a pair of pink jeans and a pink shirt, can't remember what the tie looked like. Real men wore pink in the early 70s I guess. He says he was teased mercilessly but he wore it anyway.

You know you are a '70's kid, when the infomercial comes on for '70's classic rock CD, and you can sing every word!

I don't wear the clogs, halter tops and bell bottoms no more. Still wear the afro sometimes.

And my kids always say MOM the 1970's are so OVER!
