I still have 3 pairs of clogs
I have 2 pairs of jeans with flared legs AKA bell bottoms
Those long jean skirts we are currently wearing...70's oh yeah and they still look ok.

no halter tops though - no longer a pretty sight

I do still have a few pieces that I recently made that were Mod-retro (late 60's very early 70's) that I wear. It's mostly the fabrics that are Mod in an a-line style dress and skirt/top. Still flattering and still pretty with heels or sandals.

I was a huge fan of Olga Korbut. I would say she was the one that made gymnastics fashionable, long before Nadia. But, I'm sure all girls that played the piano learned how to play Nadia's Theme. I bought the sheet music. kd

You dreamed of David Cassidy

You were jealous of Marie Osmond

You wore electric blue eyeshadow, all the way to your eyebrows.

The Hustle and The Bump were the dances to know!

The Poseidon Adventure with Maureen McGoverns' "Morning After" song.

You WERE the Dancin' Queen!

Skating to S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y NIGHT! at the local roller rink (on hard wood floor of course).

An orange flag attached to your 10 speed bike.

Getting on your dads' CB radio and having him come outside to tell you what you are saying is being broadcast over the TV.

You thought a Firebird with the big decal on the hood was really cool.

Not I.

Of course, thanks to Mrs. Lawson, my 4th grade dancing teacher.

David Cassidy was a cutie pie.

I won a dance contest in 1974 for the "bump" at our teen club. It was the double bump that got the prize.

In 1978, I was working at Arthur Murray teaching the hustle to all the people wanting to disco. I hated disco, but it was good money.

I was in love with a 67 mustang. But everybody was driving those 442's that came out in what? 75 or 76?

Oh my and remember the Pacer - look a giant boiled egg.

My handle was the Lizard King
But my little brother called me Fanny Farkle - remember them on Laugh-In?

The Farkle Family - they were all redheads with big freckles

I was a "Dancing machine"kid.

WE used to play "Sonny and Cher" we would always argue who was gonna be Cher, we put long black material on our hair, and swing it back and forth and sing...

I got you, Babe.

My avatar is me dancing to the music. In the "70's!

Some people were talking about School House Rock a while back and I was thinking "Oh, yeah!" when I read those posts. Actually, my dh and I put our memory of School House Rock to good use a few years ago when we were homeschooling our kids. A couple of them were learning the multiplication tables, and my dh and I found available a School House Rock computer game that had all the original cartoons and songs from the seventies, along with some activities. We remembered the power of School House Rock to actually teach and we bought the game. I had the kids spend a few minutes each day at the computer, just listening to the songs and watching the cartoons. Pretty soon, they were singing the songs in the car, or just anywhere, and School House Rock had succeded in rocking a whole new generation (as well as imparting some mathematical knowlege)!

You remember that a Frito Bandito eraser was a prized possession.

You or your friends scrounged soda pop bottles for extra money.

Ay, yi, yi, yi I am the Frito Bandito!

And the tabs from soda cans - the ones that actually came off and most people stuck down inside the can before drinking? I made chains with them to hold back the curtains in my bedroom.

Oh and I had real wooden beads in my bedroom doorway. I really liked them cause I could storm into my room and slam the door and the beads would make this really loud clacking noise ... ya know...just to prove my point of being an obnoxious teenager.

I always envied my friends who had those. I wasn't allowed to because I had to share a room with my sister and she was a door slammer. My parents didn't like the effect at all.

LOL! I made a chain too, but I think I just hung it on my dresser mirror.

I had a great black light poster that was like a bulls eye. Today that thing would give me a headache.

I also had a poster about what to do in case a nuclear bomb was dropped.

But my favorite poster was a door sized poster that was a cartoon picture of a stool, and the caption read: sometimes i sits and thinks, and sometimes i just sits.

I didn't do the pet rock thing, but I did buy my dad a Chia Pet.

I had Einstein's Evolution of Man poster on my wall ( at least I think that's the name of it)

And a door size poster of Roman Gabriel (football player) on the back of my door...hubba hubba

My blacklight posters were inside my closet along with the blacklight where I could open the doors, put on some music and enjoy the ambience of

well...I don't really know what that was all about

Roman Gabriel!!! Remember the Roman Gabriel grip at Burger King? I can't remember if it was for a Whopper or those wonderful Yumbos they used to sell (ham & cheese).

What hamburger was it that Joe Namath used to advertise? kd

Roman Gabriel came to one of our local Burger King's and I stood in line for like 4 hours just to get his autograph - I still got it, too! He was so cute!

I dunno about Namath - wasn't crazy about him,I just remember the panty hose commercials and calling him Broadway Joe.

Special orders don't upset us
all we ask is that you let us serve it your way!

Have it your way, at Burger King!

I think that was from the 70s too.
