You're welcome, Barb. I wish I could have found more words or audio for you but my search turned up only two pages and I clicked on every link. Pam, congratulations on fixing the thermostat! Hi Dee, Marsha and Linda!

Good morning Pam, Barb & Maggie! Yeah, Pam, I've learned over the years to do a lot of things myself -- and yeah, I've programmed our thermostat several times. Actually, I'm better at programming stuff like that than Bill. Good thing I've learned to do some things, tho, cuz as he's gotten older, Bill is really too tired to do much when he gets off work. We bought the miter saw a month or so ago and I mitered all the baseboard for the living room and put it down. Then I just discovered yesterday that the miter has a laser light on it . . cool beans! And also discovered this morning that it is a 'compound miter saw' . . see, we didnt' even know what that meant when we bought it, so didn't pay any attention to it. So I was able to make these cuts this morning without a miter table. I just can't wrap my mind around WHY mitering for the ceiling is so different than mitering a corner for the floor -- it just doesn't compute. Anyway . . I figured it out!!!!!!!!! . . . going by the instructions I found, tho having to tweak them cuz I either wasn't understaning when I made the first cut or something, but kinda doing it the oppposite of what they said -- at least RE-cutting the first piece the opposite of what I understood, and it's working!! Got the first corner cut, so had to celebrate by taking time out to sit here & eat my breakfast Thanks, Barb. Yes, I had planned to use the laundry baskets, but I need one good box for the glass dishes from the china cabinet. And I'll have to first empty the laundry basket. But that won't take long. I'll get 'er done . . but yeah, I sure do wish you lived closer. I could sure use someone right now to help hold these cove mouldings in place while I nail. Owell, I put up one piece yesterday 3 times, surely I can do it again.

You're welcome. I like doing google searches. I'm sitting in a restaurant on a bridge overlooking the Red River. It's so beautiful watching the river and because there's a stiff wind there's quite a bit of movement on the water. When I was walking beside it, I could see whitecaps and the waves moving opposite to the flow of the river, which was interesting.

That is awesome that you found that song Maggie! Somehow I totally forgot to finish mowing last night. Hubby stuck the poles in the holes he has dug; hopefully that means he's about ready to cement them in. N had his field day this morning. It was in the 50s and cloudy much of the time and windy this morning so it was pretty cool out there. R was ready to go home about as soon as we got there. But N seemed to enjoy himself so it was fun to watch. Dee

I'm sure you're very glad to have your 'puter back Marsha! Good evening Maggie! I just got done working some on the prom dress. I took the bottom trim off, had E try the dress on, and measured. I pinned it back on, and then basted part of it. One of the 3 side seams won't line up unless we take the trim apart further, so I only basted the part not affected by that issue. It may still be a bit long; but now at least maybe she can try it on and we'll be able to tell something. I originally said that E could sew it back together if I took it apart, but I was wanting to see how it would go. Prom is tomorrow. We'll see what she says about the seam lining up. Right now it's late and I can't wrap my brain around fixing that. Dee

Boy, everyone has been busy. Enjoyed hearing what all you are doing. Leah I would come and help but I am a bit overwhelmed with the chores facing me at home. I was really tired this morning and didn't get up my normal 5:00 am waking time. In fact I didn't wake up until hubby called me at 10:30 and asked if I had gone to the bank and post office yet. Nope! Sure hadn't and it was a good thing he called or I would have slept past the time they were opened. Did those errands and then bought fast food for hubby and youngest son and took it by the baseball game. My youngest was the only freshman player asked to be on the Junior Varsity team for the high school and he was playing ball today. Seems some dads are questioning why 'their' sons didn't get asked. Then I did the grocery shopping. Am having seasoned pork ribs for supper tonight gonna grill them out. And I am still extremely exhausted. It was my intention to tackle all the housework needing to be done in the house but I haven't got started yet. With it being quiet while everyone is gone I will probably go from posting this to reading in the bible trying to catch up on my assigned reading. I am 5 chapters behind. Good news! I met all requirements on my job review. Guess I will be employed for another year. I did tell her that the grapevine had told me she was going to replace me and had my replacement already decided on. She said that wasn't very nice of the person who told me that. And she did say this coming year would continue to test my abilities as the new program was going to add a lot more responsibility. I got one 'exceed requirement'. It was that I am very good with people and students and co-workers all find me approachable, friendly and helpful. Ginny

Yes, Dee, tell us what you did with the dress. I agree with Marsha, Ginny, you body evidently DID need the rest. You've been under tons of pressure/stress lately, so it's understandable that you would. The floor is down. It looks so beautiful! . . . lots of stuff yet to do, but the hard part is over and the rest I can do a day at a time. I'm very tired . . in fact, my feet were hurting so bad I finally fixed a pan of very warm water and am soaking them . . I can feel the ache seeping away already, so I'm sure it will help. I'll be heading to bed soon, and I doubt seriously if I make church in the morning. I will need to stay and help Bill get some of this back in place . . . well, actually, stay home so he will help me, hopefully.

I'm tired, E and K just left for after-prom. I finished the dress after Miss E gave up on it. That was this afternoon, and I wish we'd had time to do it "right" but at that point I just wanted to get it done the simplest way possible. So I didn't take apart the trim to make all the seams match up. But I didn't cut anything either, so at some point it could be redone if someone was so inclined. It would have been worth paying someone to do it (I think), but it was also nice to not have to have that added expense. http://picasaweb.google.com/dkgale/UntitledAlbum03 The dark pics are of their "arrival" at prom. Do other schools turn it into a "dog and pony show" as my husband would say? Some of the kids do get creative about how they arrive. We had a go cart, a girl on a chair in a trailer pulled by a lawn tractor; some off-roading type vehicles, a couple of buses, and somebody getting out of the trunk according to my daughter. I missed that. Dee

Thanks for sharing the photos, Dee! The dress and your daughter look lovely! Barb, I had to chuckle at your explanation that you baked the frozen pizzas before eating them. Ginny, congratulations on the evaluation! I'm so happy for you! I'm not one bit surprised that you exceeded requirements in your interactions with everyone. You are very congenial. Good for you! Hi Linda and Marsha! I can't sleep.

Thanks everyone for the congratulations. The prom dress and your daughter are beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Leah, I can't wait to see your new flooring and the paint job you've done on the side room. Girl, you need some rest. Maggie, sorry you couldn't sleep. I just got back from church. The sermon was on Colossians. Came home and put seasoned pork ribs in the oven along with some potatoes. Will add a salad when all is done. Now to see what kinds of recipes I pull off the net to make some oatmeal raisin cookies. Oh and I sorted the laundry and have it going. Ginny

Thanks Maggie and Ginny! I should also say that my 13yo went to music festival Saturday and got a 1 on her clarinet solo! Ginny, I also want to congratulate you on your job review. From your posts here I've always thought that you enjoyed your work and were very good at it. Dee
