Dear friends: I want to thank all of you for the kind condolences and abundance of wonderful support that you have extended to me and my family in this difficult time. The two large baskets of flowers are beautiful and we want to thank those who planned and contributed to this expression of tribute to my father. We received several cards and personal messages, even including a telephone message (I guess qtman is a good detective since he found my telephone number). These meant a lot to me, Cindy and my mother. A special thank you to Sharon-Marie, Santa, and Nancy for attending the visiting hours. I only wish that I could have spent more time with you. As you saw, there was a steady stream of visitors for over two and one-half hours. There were many church friends, my father's old classmates and football teammates, folks that he worked with, family, and friends and colleagues of Cindy and mine. The funeral was beautiful, as was the graveside service the next day. The church served a great meal following the burial. Southern funerals are not complete without a lot of food. I particularly want to thank you all for your extensive prayers, especially prayers for peace and comfort for my mother. I strongly felt your prayers and my mother seemed to be more at peace as the days went on. Today would have been my father's 74th birthday, not really old at all in this day and age. I plan to start a blog soon and will share some of my memories there. Everyone has a story, and I think that you may enjoy my recollections of this good man. Thanks again for your love, friendship, and kindness. Mike
