There was brutal attack in my area last week and the news has just come out that it is the son of a friend of mine who has been arrested. He is only 16; his victim is still in critical condition and she's only 18. The crime is nothing short of monstrous. The mom is a little more than a casual acqaintance turned business contact; I haven't spoken to her in several months. She and her son are both being potrayed as just the worst of the bottom of the barrel of society. This is such a tragic situation but this characterization is so unfair. Circumstances are being twisted to create a portrayal that has most of this community saying "See...!" or "Yea, I knew it would be a _________ from ______" and it's just so nasty and, I fear, going along racial lines. I know her heart must be just broken. Of course I am asking for prayer for his victim who is going to have an enormous road in front of her physically and emotionally. But I'm just reeling from the shock of this "monster" being someone I remember as just a quiet kid. And my heart is just breaking for my friend. I've emailed her but there's just nothing I can really say. Please pray for the whole situation. Thanks.

Lord, we pray for the victim in this crime that she will heal and be well. We also pray for the one who is accused. You know the truth, Lord and we pray that the truth comes out.We ask that you give a sense of peace to all involved. Lord, we ask that you have your hand on this whole situation and let it come out according to your will.

Asking in agreement Father for Your healing and help for this victim. That the truth will come out. For Your help and comfort for the familys on both sides of this. For this young man also, Lord. May Your will be done in this. In Jesus name. Amen
