It's much easier for me to say what I don't like;

baseball caps--the worst hat I've ever seen.

high-rise pants--makes them look like weebles--remember? Weelbles wabble but they don't fall down?

High-waters--with socks (especially white) showing.

socks with sandals

jeans or any pants that are too tight

No socks-ew

I like a "manly man" lol
I like jeans and cool tshirts, kind of a rugged guy. I like khakis and tucked in button up shirts. I like suits. I don't like big and baggy clothes on a man. Not at all. And I don't like pull over polo shirts that are printed. A dark plain color is fine as long as it fits good. I like sneakers (like new balance or nike) or a casual tie shoe or dress shoe with a suit.

but that's just me lol

or really any military uniform.

Golf course attire.

Jean Dockers or khakis with button shirt and t-shirt.

Senior-citizen-couple here:
I love it when a man simply knows what is appropriate to wear wherever he is going. That's the main thing, really.

There is a place for jeans and a t-shirt.
There is a place for khakis.
There is a place for dockers and a turtle neck.
There is a place for dress slacks and a dress shirt.
There is a place for a suit and tie (or deliberate lack thereof).
There is a place for a tux, but a tux must be worn with inborn elegance and/or quiet, subtle humor.

And any of these in the "wrong" place either say of the man that
* he doesn't care
or
* he is his own man who does not mind standing out in a crowd, because he can take it and run with it without stumbling.

Just don't wear dirty clothes.

Don't show cleaveage.

Don't wear your clothes too small.

Wear shoes that are appropriate for the clothing.

Comb your hair.

For short hair, keep the nape of your neck trimmed.

Unless you are a rabbi, trim your facial hair.

Don't assume that all women enjoy kissing a face with either facial hair or bristles. If it tickles, that is not necessarily a sign that she likes it.

Aby put it very smartly and briefly. Except I would add that I prefer men with mustache and a little cute beard. I might be old-fashioned, but did not Jesus Himself had a mustache and a cute lil beard. So why are men reluctant to have them?

Pieces that coordinate well with eachother. Clothes should fit properly and not look sloppy or wrinkled. Also, a man should not feel intimidated or emasculated if his significant other (or mother) picks out his clothing or gives him fashion tips. Women generally have a better sense of style
