tracydolls -> what do you say to "demonic" people in your house? (4/30/2008 4:05:48 PM)

I am asking how do we as Chrisitians talk to people that we think are "demonic'? how do you ask nicely for them to leave your house if they offend you? what do you do if they refuse? Become combatant?

I have a cousin that is coming over ALOT. This was after he seen Oprah's video here and said he agreed with her. we had a huge debate. I disagreed and we looked in the Bible, he left. He keeps coming back.

Saying things like "there is other ways besides Jesus"

Ok. but you got to leave here. I don't want to debate that with you. It is turning into he wants to rasie his hands over my children and say things I don't understand, I try to stop him and he says "I;m just playing with your kids.

Last night, he came back and hugged me said he loved me, I said I love you, he said It ain't easy to give up, I said sin is never easy to give up,

He jumped up , his eyes got bulged, He screamed" ARE YOU TELLING ME I SIN?

I got scared. Jumped up, I have never seen anything like that.

My hubby came into room and led him out.

I ws shaken, but i and my hubby are wondering, what should we do now.

do we stop him at door,

Tell him plainly he is not welcome

What?

any verses?

Pray for discernment but I wouldn't allow anything or anyone you're uncomfortable with around your kids. I only have one person in my life I'd truly consider "demonic" - IMO, he's evil personified. He's not allowed in my house. But your problem's different - once he's in (or accustomed to being let in), that's trickier.

He never used to come to my house. He stopped by about 3 weeks ago and I showed him the video, now he comes over ALL the time.

What do you say to the person, how does he know he is not allowed to come over?

I am sure this situation is hard for you, but I think if I were in your position, I would just be upfront and blunt about it to him.

"I'm sorry, but I can not allow this in my home. I love you and am praying for the Holy Spirit to show you the truth, but until then, I can't have you and this spirit in my home."

Then shut the door.

Yes, you tell him plainly that he is not welcome. Why? Because he acted in a way that frightened you and caused your husband to have to lead him out. Don't wait for him to come to the door. You husband should call him and tell him he's no longer welcome.

2 John 1

7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

I would take authority in Jesus name, tell him the Lord rebuke him, and plead the blood of Jesus, over your home, and babies, and him.

My wife and I are a bit reclusive, so we haven't had to eject demons from our house. However..................at work, I try hard to ignore them. If I must address them, I manage the conversation such that they do most of the talking. I try to detach myself from them as much as possible. Thankfully, my job doesn't require me to interact with them much.

define "demonic". Do you mean possessed or obnoxious, crazy, misguided?

Denies Jesus Christ.

I've been obnoxious, crazy and misguided.

csl7037 -> RE: what do you say to "demonic" people in your house? (5/1/2008 5:53:42 AM)

Unholy or unsaved, "denying Christ" isn't necessarily "demonic" - at least not in a dangerous sense. But there are peopl who are given over to the enemy, overcome with sin, to a point of being beligerantly antagonistic to everyone of God and sometimes just everyone and anyone in general. My BIL isn't just obnoxious and doesn't just "deny Christ". He's a menace and a danger.

car2ner -> RE: what do you say to "demonic" people in your house? (5/1/2008 6:20:38 AM)

I might not use the terms Demonic and Sinful... it would only get him angrier and defensive. Demonically driven or not, he is being rude and bossy and trying to cover it up with "I was only joking". This is immature behavior and you simply don't need it around.

I agree with the being blunt and to the point. "You may not come in. I don't appreciate getting aggrivated by your actions in my home." End of discussion.

Pray for him in private. Perhaps in the future he will be more willing to hear you out.

SonInMe1 -> RE: what do you say to "demonic" people in your house? (5/1/2008 9:12:34 AM)

Do not debate christianity with unsaved people. Present the gospel, live like Christ, its all you can do. To debate Christ to an unbeliever will always lead to these situations.

When he first disagreed with your position, either change the subject or be quiet. People wwho are not saved are hostile to the gospel.

So true. They don't have the Holy Spirit in them so they won't understand spiritual things.

He says he is a Christian. On his way to being an ordained preacher.

That doesn't sound like any denomination I've heard. Sounds like a nutjob. I wouldn't have anything to do with him, period.

I don't know if the guy is a nutjob or not, but the Pentecostal Free will Baptist is a Denomination located mainly in the Atlantic Coast are.

There is also a few other Baptist who tack the name pentecostal inthe official name of their Denomination.

Most of Pentecostal Baptist discount the the fifth point calvinistic idea of OSAS as their main difference with other Baptist, and others believe the gifts of the Spirit is still operatable today.

Thanks
RC

Ok, maybe I should have asked this, How do we as Christians talk to or get rid of people that say they are Christians but seem like a nutjob?

Good question because, let's be honest, most nutjobs do claim to be Christians, don't they?

Has your cousin actually tried to come around again since your dh escorted him out? Maybe he got the message or got embarassed or even got mad at you and wont want to come back?

2by2 -> RE: what do you say to "demonic" people in your house? (5/3/2008 5:48:12 PM)

You simply show him the door and say:

"OUT! EV-VIL SPR-RIT!"

Seriously, keep him away from your children. I do believe in demonic possession and that there are evil spirits lurking everywhere waiting to take advantage of the innocent. This is what Satan gloats over, this is how Satan gets his followers.

Tell him, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord". (Joshua 24:15) If you ain't serving, you ain't welcome!

just my little giggle!!!!
