Sarah - thanks, you calmed me down. I know I am the type of person to organize and reorganize a thousand times anyways...so I am just in chill mode today thanks to you!!

Kathryn - I had gained 12lbs in 4 weeks one time...and I wasn't as sick as you during my first trimester. I think you are fine! You are doing all the right things...keep your head up!

PureJoy- I forgot you had said that, I will go find that thread now...thanks!

Kristin - your siggy makes me laugh! What a huge range! I'm sorry people are being insensitive and talking about c-sections just because the baby might be big! I hope you get the due date figured out soon!

LOL...me too...I am CONSTANTLY reorganizing things all the time....it finally gets all completely done, and we move....lol. I feel like we are finally starting to feel settled here and we have been here a year. We finally have the rooms mostly how they need to be and are finally starting to get from just organizing to decorating...and that feels so good. But as far as organizing goes, you will spend the next few years redoing your whole system every few months anyway because the needs of the baby will change that often. What you will need at arms reach when they are newborn isn't necessarily what you will need when they are a few months old. So just take it slowly and as it comes and grow with it....it will all come together. I consider organizing kind of like laundry...you keep doing it over and over again and weed things out as you go and add more things, but it's never a job that is totally ever done for life....lol

Good way of putting it Sarah!

Donna - how did your separated pelvis happen? during labor? what does it feel like? something happened to mine today, and now I can't spread my legs or stand up good and I can't touch my pelvic bone without it hurting...I don't know what is wrong, and you are the first person I thought of. (hopefully I am thinking of the right person!!)

Kristin, I'm kind of butting in, I had a separated pelvis with my daughter's pregnancy. It's called SPD, Symphosis Pubic Dysfunction. A midwife friend of mine said it's common in second (or more) pregnancies since it's often caused by the "frog" position used during pushing. With mine, I had excrutiating pain in my pelvis that made moving with my legs assymetrical almost impossible. Getting out of bed, walking, even setting the emergency brake on my car (I have one of those that you have to step on with your left foot) - SO painful! It really helps to find ways that you can do things while keeping your legs together. You can Google the name of it for more info. My doc told me that if I had it this time she would prescribe physical therapy, you can use an elastic band which can provide some relief if it is SPD. I'll tell you though, it can be kind of tough to get some doctors to diagnos this, some docs won't even acknowledge it's a real thing.

Yes, we believe mine happened during my first labor. Noah was stuck on my pubic bone and there was a loud pop when he came free. My mom had a similar experience with my brother and xrays now show that she actually broke her pelvis in that same spot.

If you google the SPD Julie mentioned, it'll tell you all about it. Might want to print out the symptoms, mark the ones you have, and take it to your doctor.

My husband is graduating today!!! I'm so excited and SOOOOO proud of him!!! He doesn't have any job leads yet, so that has me worried, but we still have until July 1 for me to get out of my teaching contract. If he gets a job, I'll be a stay at home mom (or at the most, work part time in the evenings or something). If he doesn't get a job, well, I guess I'll be teaching for another year... Ah well. Whatever happens will be for the best. And I still think that his resigning was the best decision.

I got a letter in the mail yesterday, which was a surprise. With Gabe's birthday last weekend and his graduation this weekend, he's been getting tons of mail, but I don't get anything but bills I opened my letter and it was a Mother's Day card from my mother-in-law (where's a "tears of joy" emoticon when you need one???) She hasn't really shown any interest in the pregnancy and hasn't even mentioned it much, so it was really nice of her to send me a Mother's Day card. It's the first one I've ever gotten (obviously... that's just be mean of someone to send me one last year or something ). I'll keep it forever

(((Artemis))) how sweet of your MIL and YAY for your hubby!! I hope he finds a good job soon!

I am going to do the best I can to describe what I felt last night to see if anyone has any suggestions - having never experienced this feeling before I may be wordy in describing it

I *think* my stitch has been pulling. Last night within a one hour time period this happened about 5 times - I wouldn't say it hurt, but it was kind of like a sharp pain in the area of my vagina that lasted only about 5 - 10 seconds. Each time the sensation came on me I grabbed the area because it felt kind of like something was about to fall out of there That sounds so weird. It was *almost* like I had to pee - except it made me cry out and it only lasted the few seconds.
When I lay down it totally stopped.

I have been taking it easy this morning and it's happened twice when I've been standing.
Another weird thing I've been feeling this morning is almost like "burbling" in my vaginal canal. It almost feels like little bubbles are making there way through.

Nothing else hurts or feels out of place other than what is normal for a pregnancy.

I am thinking it is the stitch pulling because when I get contractions it affects the cervix and it pulls on the stitch. It's always lasted longer (the pulling feeling) and I've always been able to point at the trigger for what caused the pulling.
So I'm confused.

I'd rather not go to L&D over this. I'm thinking just bed resting myself (other than church tomorrow) till my appointment on Tuesday should be good... what do you think experienced pregnant mommas? Good idea? Bad idea?

I'd call your doctor and see what they think. How many weeks are you now? I know it's not 25, as it says in your siggy, since I'm 23 and I'm due two months after you. So you must be around 31 or 32? Bed rest does sound like a good idea, but with your history, I'd not wait until Tuesday.

Is your doctor doing anything to encourage the baby's lungs to develop? If something is happening, they will probably want to do that.

((((((((((((((Jess))))))))))))) Praying for you and the little guy...

Jess, call the Dr.

We put the crib together at midnight last night. Weren't really tired. It was interesting. Then while the sweaty husband took a shower I built Lego's in the bathroom to keep him company.. Indiana Jones sets Very cool motorcycles nowadays.

I think we have both finally got the nesting bug a little. We may go out later and get a mattress for the crib even.. wonder of wonders.

And I opened the corner of a pack of diapers I got and sniffed them.. HEAVEN. Oh my gosh I forgot how they smell. like a baby. yum.

I have 31 days.. I found this feature in my cell phone where you can put in "D days" and it counts down. That may have been a bad idea

31 days. 31 days. 31 days.

Oh right, that's a month. AAHH!!!!!! I can't be having a baby. Like really, who thought this was a good idea??

J/k.

sorta.

Please tell me you ladies go through panic modes once in a while when it gets closer to the end.

Good point about the lung development. I haven't had anything to help with that.

Paul won't be home until 6 this evening - I *can not* go in to L&D by myself, and I really don't want to call someone from church to go in with me either. It's really, really hard for me to go in there just because of the past (even tho everything has worked out fine - it still scares me a little going in.)

If I call I will probably just be able to talk to the nurse on duty, and she would just ask the doctor on duty... I feel like they'd tell me to come in, so I will call once Paul gets home or is closer to heading home.
It happened to me right after I posted the last post, then I went and lay down (Judah went down for a nap too) and I just now got up as he just woke up, so everything has been fine.

I did take myself off the progesterone this past week. My doctor doesn't know, but it's suppose to end soon anyway, and it was making the area feel bruised and super sensitive. When I tried talking to my doctor about it he didn't believe me, so I finally decided to just take myself off it and see if the 'bruised' feeling went away and it did. I went back on it and the feeling came back, so I'm off it for good now. (And it was debatable how effective it was in the first place.)

ETA: Oh ya, I am 32 weeks on Monday :)

Sounds like a good idea. I wouldn't want to go in by myself either. Can someone watch Judah for you?

We're already talking about when to start for the next one.

But then I laugh and tell him to let me get through this first one and see how I like it

I have no doubt that we will have more, and try for closeish together siblings. I didn't like being 10 years apart with my sister but that wasn't my moms fault. So we will just see when we get Prego'd again.

Do we have a stroller thread somewhere??

I'll find someone from church. A bunch of people have offered at any time to watch him... but unfortunately tonight there is a surprise party for one of the older men (75th b-day) all adults were invited, it's starts at 5 tho and since Paul wouldn't be home I wasn't going to go... but I think almost everyone else is going.
I've asked one of the college guys what his plans are for the evening - he's over at our house a lot and is like an uncle to Judah. He's got 5 younger siblings and is so good with Judah - he's told Paul that any time we need him to he'd watch Judah, so if he's free then I guess we'd ask him :) If he's not free I'll have to call down my list of adults that have offered and see if anyone isn't going to the party. I don't want someone to not go to the party just because they need to watch Judah tho (it's a no-kids party.) So I do feel a little badly calling and asking... so pray the college guy has nothing to do on a Saturday night

Here is Jae's stroller thread, but if it doesn't fit, you could start an in general stroller thread, I think. It's been almost a month since that one's been posted in.

ETA...Jess, I'm sure you'll find someone who will be thrilled to take him. It sounds like you have a lot of good friends/church family down there, which is wonderful!

Okay, so ibuprofen is on the list of no-no meds from my doctor. But I have a wicked sinus infection that tylenol and sudafed are not helping enough. Kellymom.com says ibuprofen is a low risk in the first and second trimesters. I know if taken too close to delivery, it can cause a heart defect in baby. But I'm 23 weeks and all my babies have been born at 39 weeks or later. I so want to take it because I think it will help with the pain.

Would you take it?

Jess- I agree with the other ladies...at least give the doc a call. I'm sure the college guy would drop whatever plans he has tonight if he got to watch Judah. After all, you know what they say about guys with babies and puppies...

Amy- That was so sweet of your MIL to send you a mother's day card. It sounds like that 's just what you needed from her. I've gotten a couple from different people too...so thoughtful.
