Jess- I agree with the other ladies...at least give the doc a call. I'm sure the college guy would drop whatever plans he has tonight if he got to watch Judah. After all, you know what they say about guys with babies and puppies...

The guy is going to prom with a girl from work who needed a date. I have been sitting/reclined all afternoon, I'm going to get up and see if the pulling comes again. If so then I'll call L&D, and if they say to come in I'll start calling down my list of church friends and see if anyone is home/free this evening.
If they're all at this party it should be over by 7 or 8, so I could just wait to go in until then - pack up Judah's stuff and let him spend the night with someone.
I am *so* grateful to live where we do with loved and trusted Christian friends!! God is good.

Donna, have you ever heard the song "Dandelions" by Five Iron Frenzy?? I think you'd like it

Nope, but I'm going to search for it now!

Okay, I found it...love the lyrics, but not my favorite style of music.

I agree. I'm sure just knowing that makes the stress of the situation at least a little bit less.

Donna, your avatar makes me smile.

I had my 32 week appt. yesterday. Everything is great! The baby moved around so much during the check-up, so when it came time to listen for the heartbeat the doctor told Baby to stay still for a minute and Baby listened...hehe...okay, so I think it's cute.
I've had a lot of BH today...it's an odd feeling to have, I must admit, but I did like putting the "Braxton Hicks" sticker on today's date in my pregnancy calendar.

Jessica, I hope to hear an update from you soon- praying for you.

Well I haven't had any pulling sensations since 2 - and I even tried to trigger it a bit by being up and doing some vacuuming/tidying up. Nothing. So I decided not to call.
I am going to take it easy until Tuesday tho, and if I feel anything at all I'll call them - Paul's either home or working close to home for the next two days, so he'll be able to go in with me should something happen. Hopefully nothing else will tho!!

Yes, we believe mine happened during my first labor. Noah was stuck on my pubic bone and there was a loud pop when he came free. My mom had a similar experience with my brother and xrays now show that she actually broke her pelvis in that same spot.

Just a little FYI for those who haven't had labor yet...pelvic separation, from my limited knowledge could be avoided if women were allowed to push on their sides when a baby gets stuck on the pelvic bone, instead of being 'forced' to push on their backs. Back pushing does not allow the spine to move outward during labor and thus babies get stuck on that bone...

True, however, I don't believe that is what happened with me, as I pushed in many different positions over the 3 hours I pushed. I believe that my mom and I have similar shaped pelvises (pelvi?? LOL) and that popping was the only way to get our babies out. I have no doubt many doctors would have wanted to do a c-section with Noah, and I am thankful that I was allowed to break my pelvis instead. Seriously, I am thankful...I didn't even know what had happened until 5 years later, when I was pregnant with Hannah. My mom didn't know until 20+ years later when they saw it on xray. Definitely not the norm for everyone though, and not something the first timers should even worry about.

Hey guys, thanks for the info, I will be researching it next. Just wanted to come give an update. I am in major pain. I don't know what I have done, and I picked the wrong time to do it because my physical therapist is on vaction this week.

I hope everyone has had a good Mothers Day, I was served breakfast in bed, got a baby carrier and dinner at Red Lobster. My dh is very sweet.

I am off to lay down, sitting hurts, walking hurts, anytime I spread my legs it hurts...I just don't know what I have done.

Could it just be the baby???

Oh Jessica - glad you are feeling better, hopefully it will stay away now!! I'll be praying for you.

Stephanie that is cute, at physical therapy the other day we were talking about my due date getting moved up and him being so big that he kicked me 3 times in a row to the point it made my gown move, so my PT said do you have something to say talking to my belly and he kicked again really hard. I had to laugh...it was cute! Glad you had a good appt.

Hi ladies. I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day! It was such a wonderful feeling to have my first.

Well, I don't know if I'm right, but I'm feeling like I'm getting close. I've been feeling sensitive and vulnerable the last couple of days. This morning I had some pretty uncomfortable cramping going on, but it has stopped. Anyway, maybe that means it will be sooner than later (or maybe not - lol). Who knows?

Kristin, I'm kind of butting in, I had a separated pelvis with my daughter's pregnancy. It's called SPD, Symphosis Pubic Dysfunction. A midwife friend of mine said it's common in second (or more) pregnancies since it's often caused by the "frog" position used during pushing. With mine, I had excrutiating pain in my pelvis that made moving with my legs assymetrical almost impossible. Getting out of bed, walking, even setting the emergency brake on my car (I have one of those that you have to step on with your left foot) - SO painful! It really helps to find ways that you can do things while keeping your legs together. You can Google the name of it for more info. My doc told me that if I had it this time she would prescribe physical therapy, you can use an elastic band which can provide some relief if it is SPD. I'll tell you though, it can be kind of tough to get some doctors to diagnos this, some docs won't even acknowledge it's a real thing.

Kristin, I had terrible pain at the end of my pregnancy too...in my pelvis, and sometimes in my tailbone. My OB sent me to physio, and they gave me lots of exercises to do to strengthen, but I think by that time, it was too late.
I tried chiropractor, and they found that my hips were misaligned and she started working on those, and I found quite a bit of improvement. I only had a few treatments before I went into labour though, so I don't know if it would have improved all the way.

I remember how painful it was, it was hard to even lift one leg to put my pants on, or turn over in bed, or even walk.
It improved a lot after delivery.

Hope you find something to relieve the pain!

Yep, EmilyAnn is my contact. Manda has kindly offered to be a back-up in case Emily has her little one early. Poor Emily is still having a lot of hip and back pain. She's still hoping to make it to 37 weeks, but will be happy to have him out!

I'm feeling okay today. I went swimming which helped quite a bit with the pressure, but the discomfort in my pelvis has really been coming and going today. It's like things are just very tender down there right now, and his movements are ouchy!! Anyway, other than that and being a bit tired I'm doing well.

Kristin, I'm so sorry you're hurting so much. I really hope you find some relief!

Thanks, Kati!

Here's my newest thing - seems he has moved further down, which of course makes me feel the need to pee even more often, but I guess he's putting quite a bit of pressure on my urethra...? I'm having a hard time getting it out. I have to rock back and forth on the toilet and let it dribble little by little. Is that normal? I hope I'm not going to go another 2 weeks having to pee like that! LOL. I also look much more like a duck today than ever.

My dear girl, that was "normal" for both my pregnancies beyond about 16 weeks!!

I also have to rock to completely empty my bladder, probably from about the same time as Manda said. Normal. Or at least I'm going to pretend it is.

I've had to lean forward to empty for awhile, but now the pressure makes me feel like there's a gallon in there, but I really have to work to get a dribble out - I actually just went again and found it helped to hold up my belly. Ahhh... relief! This pressure is wild, but I'm sure it's pretty normal. I think women are superheroes! I can't believe I found a smiley for that! LOL

I had just a streak of blood when I went to the bathroom just a few minutes ago. Nothing on the panties. And not even that big. Do I need to be concerned about this? I've been on my feet all day. I did take a smallish nap after lunch. Baby is still beebopping around in there. Should I call my midwife?

Should add, I haven't had any relations for a couple of days and there's basically been nothing up in there for a while. And no cramping or any of that. This happened right after a BM too.
