I'm glad they are at least coming this week Lily!! Hopefully you have good news tomorrow at your appt...

My blood pressure has definetly started going up. It was around 127/77 and yesterday and today it has been 138-141/85-88. Should I be worried? My swelling isn't any worse and it goes down when I prop my feet up and lay around. Could that also be a reason I am so tired??

If it stays up, Kristin then I would call your OB. Have they done a 24 hour urine collection to check for protein? Were they watching you for pre-e?

Kristin - I agree with Ryanne - you need to call if it stays at that level. What was your BP earlier in the pregnancy?

I don't think that would be rude at all! Remember, it's YOUR BABY, and YOUR LABOUR - not theirs! Stick up for what you feel will be best for you. If you are uncomfortable, it could make labour/recovery more difficult.

Emily - good to 'see' you

I got sick in Walmart today. Very suddenly got dizzy, broke out in a sweat, etc. I had to sit down right where I was, while keeping a hand on Levi's foot so he wouldn't get out of the cart. I know it wasn't a blood sugar issue, as I had just eaten and had protein. I think it may have been an overheating issue, since other customers said it was very warm in there also. I guess it could have also been related to my sinus infection (day 2 on meds). Whatever it was, it was scary being alone in Walmart with two little kids and feeling like that. I felt fine when we went into the store...weird. My head still hurts and I don't feel well. I told Brian what happened and I'm afraid he won't let me go shopping unchaperoned now.

I need some advice...I just got asked to be a bridesmaid for one of my very good friends. Her wedding will be the very end of October or very beginning of November. Baby will be here by then, but how in the world do I pick a dress size?

how long after baby is here will the wedding be?

GOOD!!!!! I wouldn't either!!!! It probably is just related to the heat and the sinus infection, but still...it could be BP related too. Was your heart racing? If Brian won't let you go alone, then take him up on whatever plan he devises...he is only looking out for your safety!!!

Donna, I had that happen several times when I was pregnant and I'm pretty sure it was always from overheating. I just learned to keep a bottle of water with me and to sit down if I needed to. No one ever seemed to care if I plopped down in the aisle, lol.

It seemed to be more of a low BP or blood sugar issue to me, but I doubt the sugar because I had eaten 30 minutes before. If I hadn't been on the other side of the store from the pharmacy, I'd have taken my BP, but I just wanted to get out of the store! I felt a bit better once I was in fresh air.

I know Brian is looking out for me...but if it was just this stupid sinus infection and the heat, then it should be fine, KWIM?

If it was overheating, I don't know how I am going to survive this summer. It wasn't even hot out today.

Also, I didn't sleep well at all last night...but it's weird that I felt fine until I was in the store. Usually when no sleep bothers me, I'm useless all day.

Donna that is scary. But sounds like over heating and meds combo are knocking you harder than most folks?

Lily, it's a paper bag in the shape of a helmet of course :) from Monty Python with "The Knight's who say Ni"

Emily that is interesting to me that it was a self test.. mine was not.

Kristin send 'em on over.

I know in the long run we will be fine. I don't doubt my ability to care for a babe on our own and stuff. It was just a nice thing to look forward to seeing my mom for a little while when I haven't physically seen her in a few years. It's a big let down. Jeremy is a bit upset, combination of worrying about me when he goes back to work and combination that she really could come if she changed a few things and he's bothered that she won't change them when he doesn't even have a mom to come out.

The closer her due date gets the more he's bringing up how much it hurts his mom won't be able to see her. And all the regrets he has over their relationship. What a rough 24 hrs this has been on us.

OH and.. my glider? Awesome. EXCEPT we have to take back the ottoman .. they mismatched the cushions. Back into the box it went before I even tried it and/or the cats could get near it!!!! The recliner chair is sweet though. Heavenly.

Erin- can they make the dress for you? It wouldn't be any harder then when a pregnant women is a bridesmaid, a few of my friends have been about 7 or 8 months as a bridesmaid and they just have the dress made for them and then altered at the last minute.
If you say your baby is 2 weeks late (just saying) how many weeks after is the wedding?

She doesnt have an exact date yet, but if I deliver on my due date (which I know how unlikely that is...) the baby will be about 3 weeks at the earliest. Her wedding date hasnt been completely nailed down yet. However, I will note that no one in my family has EVER delivered late, the latest was two days BEFORE her due date. I know that doesnt mean a whole lot, just saying. I think I'd be safest to go a bit big, then have my MIL take it up right before the wedding. I dont know what the style is going to be yet.

hmm its cutting it a bit fine really... if it was me I wouldn't be in the wedding but maybe take on another special role, there are so many "if's" that could happen which means you wouldn't be able to take part. What if it's a c-section, what if baby is late, what if you are just so darn tired that you can't be there all day? Baby will need frequent feeding, what if it cries while you are in the ceremony and wants you (unless you will be bottle feeding then that isn't a problem) but if you are pumping, thats going to be added pressure.
Just some things to think about.

Yeah, but I REALLY REALLY hate to say no. We have been friends for so long. But the wedding will be pretty casual, meaning that it would be perfectly fine for me to just show up right before and not stay for the reception. Plus, the actual ceremony wouldnt only be about 20-30 mins. I am really hoping that she'll go with the November date. I think she would rather me run the risk of having to skip out, rather than say I cant do it at all.

Erin...if her wedding will be anytime within two months of when you have the baby, then whatever size you would wear right now is probably about the right size to try for then.
btw...cute pics!!

I love your pics, Erin. I'm sure (especially since it's not a super formal wedding) that your friend understands there may be certain circumstances that would make it impossible for you to go. So, as long as she knows that and is okay with it I think everything will be fine.

Brandy - the pic is too funny! I hope tomorrow is a better day for you and dh. It's got to be rough for him with his mom gone.

Kristin, just wanted to agree with the other ladies about the BP.

Donna, I'm glad you're feeling okay and am VERY glad your dh is being protective!

Had to apologize to hubby tonight. I snapped at him - he came home from work after a hard day and said, "You're not planning on going into labor tonight, are you?" He's said something to that effect just about every night lately. Today it got to me b/c my mom and in laws are stressing wanting to know exactly when the baby will be here so they can make their plans to visit. I'm so tired of people expressing to me that they need to know when so they can plan... I DON'T KNOW when the baby will come - leave me alone! LOL Poor hubby - he didn't mean anything by it - he just had a tough day.

Yeah, I'm sure she understands. Besides, the wedding will be laid back enough, (she stated that she just wants everyone to have a good time and celebrate with them) and hubby can come with me to all the events (hair, rehearsal, pictures, whatever) that it shouldnt be too big of a problem. And if I walk down the isle then have to sneak out because of baby, it'll be no biggie,no one will care, pretty much everyone will know the circumstance. I think I'll just get sized as I am, and maybe leave a little room (depending on the style) and me and MIL can take it in some later. I know the weight just doesnt magically disappear but didnt have any idea what to expect size-wise at that time frame post partum.

Lily- that's so annoying isn't it? Getting hounded so they can make THEIR plans. Ugh, my mum was doing that to me with Nath and it drove me crazy. I snapped at her one day and she didn't ask again.

Erin- well if your friend is happy with that then thats cool, some brides turn into control freaks so you know your friend better than us and will know if she won't mind if you only turn up for part or none at all.

Lily, your husband is brave. Mine wouldn't dare say such a thing.

Brian thinks once I am off these meds, I'll be fine. He also knows I don't deal well with no sleep, so we agreed I will not go to Walmart alone after a night of bad sleep, even if I feel fine. But otherwise, I can go as usual. My SIL is out of college now and won't mind taking the kids most times, so that will make it easier for me too.

Is there any concern for preterm labor from that little spot of blood I had on monday if I'm not having anymore problems? I walked, weeded, took care of house yesterday and even 'spent' time with hubby, no problems. Do I need to be on the lookout? I read a thing from my pregnancy weekly that said about bleeding, even if it's a little bit. I'm not contracting, not even BH. What do you think?

Erin, cute pics! Don't worry about those stretch marks either because if they are anything like mind they fade quite a bit...more than I thought they would.

Kathryn, with no more issues, and not even BH, I wouldn't worry about it. BUT...I'd not be lifting Nadia or overdoing it anymore either.

Erin, forgot to say...love your pictures. And yes, the stripes will fade. Mine always end up being zebra stripes over my entire belly. All for a good cause...
