You could just have a lot of water. I measured a little ahead my entire pregnancy and ended up with a 6 1/2 pound baby. LOL! My first pregnancy symptoms were very light brown spotting but no period, exhaustion and sore breasts. Oh, and extreme thirst. I was constantly thirsty the whole 9 months.

Could also mean that your diaphragm got in the way and got measured as well ... that's what happened with my with #3, right up until he dropped ... then I measured 2 weeks smaller than the previous week's measurement! (Your diaphragm sits right under your ribcage, which is right above your ever expanding uterus)

Or it could just mean a growth spurt. I did that with Nadia and so far with this one. Right around 28 weeks I'll start measuring 2 weeks ahead consistently for about a month and a half and then the growth will level out, still be at where I'm supposed to be for the week, like 36 weeks I measure 36, it's just my babies grow a lot during that time and then level out. Still waiting on this one to level out. I have a question that will sound crass, but I don't mean it that way. Anyone have trouble keeping their legs together? And I mean really, like I just can't do it. So tell me, if there are other pregnant women who have this same trouble, why oh why do they make maternity dresses so short!!!

Yeppers Kathryn ... especially right now with Caleb sitting lower than low! I usually end up wearing shorts or a long skirt. I also don't buy actually "maternity" clothes ... I just get regular clothes a few sizes larger ... makes it a LOT easier for me.

Good point, Kathryn, about the growth spurt. I was really hungry last week, much more than normal. I know my son eats a lot when going through a growth spurt. Plus, when I had the ultrasound, the baby measured a little big. The doc didn't change the due date because it was only 5 days. Maternity Clothes - I certainly sympathize with the skirts that are not long enough. Since I can't find them in stores, I have resorted to ebay where I can find long dresses at a reasonable price.

I haven't been able to keep my legs together for months. Very unlady-like. But...oh well. I don't wear dresses though, so that helps. I go to the OB tomorrow. Time for the wonderful strep swab thingy and I'm going to also have her check me. I've had some really low, sharp pains for a couple/few days now, along with fairly regular and strong practice contractions. With all the events and stress of the past 18 days...well, I'm not counting on going to 40 weeks this time. I'm also going to ask about scheduling an induction at 38-39 weeks (I'm 36 tomorrow). Brian is coming home Friday and it would make things a lot easier if I knew when I needed to get someone to stay with him instead of waiting until I am in labor and then scrambling for someone to stay here. Still hoping he can be there for at least the baby being born part, but if he can't, he can't. Hoping, but trying not to focus on it too much either.

Donna, I think that one less stress would help you out a lot right now. Scheduling an induction sounds like the ticket to less stress. Hugs for all you are going through.

Room - My guess is you are having a boy since you are experiencing such a different pregnancy. Great mental picture of the homebirth!!!!!!

Really? Well that's not good, but good to know!! Eh, I still got time. That's cool. How many did I ask you to make? I can't remember. Can't remember a lot these days.

Donna, with your bp and everything an induction at 38 weeks might be the better option anyway, ya know? Save yourself the horrid swelling and headaches.
