Yeah, Noah too. Nick and Hannah are our picky eaters, though Hannah can eat well some days. Levi is a porker so far.

Yup...because you got it on a card, right? My brother did the same thing and his won't come until after he's in jail...if it comes at all. I personally hope they take the whole thing for child support for his daughter.

Caspian was AWESOME! But I could not believe how many 2-6 year olds were in there! I wouldn't take a child younger than Nick, and that only because he watches much worse at his mother's house. Hannah might watch it if we see it at home, but that's a lot different than on the big screen, to me anyway.
My garden is finally tilled...now I hope it doesn't rain all week, like they say it will. I wanna get my goodies planted! I feel really physically good this pregnancy (aside from recovering from a sinus infection), and I did not anticipate that when planning my garden. Ah well...we'll still have cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, and yellow squash.

Well, my kids have the piggies out on their leashes for a walk.
I had another good savings trip at the grocery store. Saved like 49%. Lots of BOGO's. They had pepsi 2L bottles for $1 a bottle or 10 for $8. I can't remember the last time I saw 2L of Dr Pepper for 80 cents a bottle.

thanks for letting me know about the movie. I was wondering who to let watch the movie now and who to wait until it was on DVD. All the kids loved Narnia, but I think it would have been too much to watcon the big screen for my younger crew.
We just got Timothy and David their Hermit crabs. We got a little starter kit to go along with the hand-me-downs from Donna. (thank you Donna!) Timothy's crab is named Jack. He got that name because he is hyper (like timothy). Who knew that crabs could be hyper. Anway, he pops out of his shell and makes you jump when you pick him up making us jump too. so we named him Jack for Jack-in-the-box.
I told David that he needs to be thinking of name for his crab. He said, "I know, I am thinking of a nameing him now." I thought he said that he was think of the name "Now". So asked him if he was really going to call his crab "Now". After that, it sounded like a regular Abbot and Costello routine for a bit. So for a few hours we were calling David's crab "Now".
David has come up with a new name now though. It is Mandar which means firm. I will probably end up calling it Manny. They are really cool and interesting. Who knew?? I sure didn't. Almost immediately after we put Jack in his new home he found a shell that came from Donna's house and he immediaely switched shells. none of has ever seen a crab do that before. It was really exciting. I am glad that Donna sent those shells over with the tank. The shells in the starter kit were way too small. I really like them a lot more than I thought that I would.

yeah...they wouldn't let us have it put directly into our account, they had to do it onto one of their cards.

Ellie--that is tooooo funny!!! And I can just see you doing that...
Speaking of kids packing it in... You ain't seen nuthin' until you see ds1 eat when we're riding! Last year on our bike tour at the lunch stop ds1 LOADED his plate. There's plenty of food, and they expect you to eat, but then there's just being a pig thing. I looked at ds1's plate and couldn't believe all the food he took. I said something to him about it. The guy behind us in line just said "he's a teen aged boy! He needs to eat!" Not to worry--he ate it all. And was hungry again in 25 miles...
I really hate being a meaning and laying down the law but... Yesterday ds2 was riding his bike without a helmet. Helmets have been the rule since day one. One warning from dh. He shouldn't even have gotten a warning. He was back out without a helmet. So, today on my way home from work I stopped at the bike shop for a bike lock. Ds2's bike is now locked. It will be locked until his attitude changes.

Good for you. I may have to do the same with Noah here shortly. Three times this week, I've caught him without a helmet on. Doesn't help that none of the kids in the neighborhood wear them...but TOUGH. I'm your mom, not theirs!

If the rule is that you wear a tin foil hat with orange flowers while riding your bike, and the kid doesn't wear it, the bike would get locked. That's direct disobedience. If you wanna negotiate the style of the hat, then come talk to me about it, but you can't just decide not to wear it. Hang tough, Mom.

Maybe the boys should practice wearing their helmets all day (especially when out and about) so they can get used to them and the helmets become more of a habit.

He may have to take it off during chapel and prayer so as not to be considered disrespectful. Or at the very least he could have to wear it whenever he is not in a class.

I don't think I would do the school thing...I am not big on embarrassment. I think that has to do with living in Mormonville. They are big on embarrassing their kids into being good.

I agree with Donna that it's not a movie for very small children.
It's not like it's a new rule...but the pushing it is new.
