Just to clarify, those are guinea pigs not oinky piggies. Only DD2 is upset to the point of tears. I think that with everything else that's happened the last several months it's just kind of anticlimatic to them. DD2 was also not surprised. She had been telling herself that they were getting to the age our other ones were when they died and that they would probably die soon. When it was time to get DD1 from youth group and I told them to stay upstairs for a minute she knew what was happening. They are going to go bury him in Grandma's pet cemetary tomorrow. 1 or 2 cats and our other 2 piggies are buried in Grandma and Grandpa's yard.

We saw Caspian last night. It was a good movie, but didn't follow what I remember from the book very well. Sorry, I'm a bit of a Narnia purist. I meant to comment about Caspian earlier, but forgot! It was really good, but Sue is right it doesn't follow the book as much as the 1st one did. Dh says that's what we get for reading. I always have wondered how screenwriters decide what to leave out & what to add to the story & why. What a wonderful blessing about finding the extra money Annie! It never ceases to amaze me how God provides! ((((Zoe & Kids)))) - sorry for the loss of one of your piggies. Well, it's the last week of most of our regular activities (some have already ended). Ds has Scouts & Karate at night & we have MOPS tomorrow. Wednesday night is our last small group (we have some get togethers scheduled for the summer). I'm really looking forward to the summer schedule. I'm getting burned out. I'm hoping to actually get to go to "Big" church for the next 2 months!! It has been since January since I've sat through an entire service. Of course, some of that was because of dh's surgery & illnesses, but most because of doing the kids program. I enjoy working with the kids, but have really missed adult praise & worship and getting to hear an entire sermon! My biggest fear is that those who are assigned for the next 2 months will be calling to ask me to sub because of vacations. I'm not going anywhere until August (probably) & I would feel guilty saying No just because I want to go to "big" church. Oh well, guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I tweaked my back last week & have been in pain on & off for several days now. It feels quite a bit better today. I felt like a heal complaining about it when dh is still recovering & having quite a bit of soreness & pain.

Good morning. I am going to work in a few minutes. Please pray for me. In addition to everything else, yesterday's sunday school lesson was on living a sustainable life...one that is not overcommitted, wearing you out and not building you up...exactly the kind of life I am leading. I broke down crying in SS because I don't have a choice! This is an awful way of living--we all hate it, but I can't change it! I am worn out and depressed and sometimes irrational.

((((((((((((((((((Jen)))))))))))))))))) I hear you, although in different circumstances. I cried all through church yesterday too. It's hard living something you didn't choose and never wanted. Hang in there...

I just freecycled a bunch of yucca plants. We had a huge grouping of them in the area we were redoing and they were sort of a tangled mess. We dug them all out and only replanted one. When I put them on freecycle, I didn't think anyone would want them. At last count, six people had responded! I ended up parceling them out to the first two who could come and pick them up.

That's nice, Sue. I'll bet they really appeciated getting free established plants for their yards. Dh and I recently dug up some rhubarb from my dad's house, before it's sold. We also found a large, established rosemary plant in a pot, which we were able to bring home and put in our back yard. What a find! We are getting dirt for our raised bed garden. It will be here on Friday morning. We're going to be busy for a couple of days with putting it into the beds. I am quite happy to get it. The beds were made two years ago, but I have had a hard time putting out the money to get the dirt delivered. It's around $100 for good garden soil to be dumped in our driveway. I have starts sitting on the back deck ready to plant, but still need the dirt.

ORIGINAL: amybreit (((Jen))) - praying for you!! You all are so ambitious with your plants & gardens. I can't seem to get motivated yet. I bought the starts, which motivated me to buy the dirt, otherwise the money I spent on the starts will be wasted.

Oh, I guess that I won't bother you during naptime. Just give me a call when you are ready. I had no ideas that gnomes sounded so handsome.

Sorry everyone. I need to admit that I have never read Prince Caspian. Ds said that they left some of the book out and that some of the stuff wasn't in the book. Nothing to apologize for, Judy. It was your original post that reminded us the movie was in town. I did enjoy the movie and would recommend it, even though it took some creative license with the book. I'm happy to see family friendly movies being made.

(((((((Jen)))))) Sorry to hear about your piggie Zoe. My dh is home for the next two days. He was out with a friend on a bike ride in the afternoon in the hot sun, and apparently Dh hadn't hydrated himself very well because after riding hard for about 6 miles, he started seeing spots. So he made it back to the car and then passed out in the parking lot and really smacked his head on the pavement. So somehow his friend got him back to his house, and then called me. Since Dh had the car, I had to call my FIL to take me over there, pick up Dh and the car and then take him to the ER. According to the friend, right after the fall, dh had some slurred speech and then he had short term memory issues. So at the ER, they checked him for dehydration (which by then, he had had alot of fluids) and they did a CAT scan and only found him to have a mild concussion. So, he's home today and tomorrow. He's pretty sore on the side he fell on. He still repeats a few things, but he doesn't seem to be in the loop of topics that he was in last night. He has a nice scrape under one eye too. I'm very thankful that his injuries weren't worse.
