I don't know if studies have been done on this, but from talking to other people, it seems a lot of folks believe that a person's attitude and goodness actually have an effect on their physical appearance. So, for instance, someone that's kind of homely looking could look more attractive if they were nicer to other people.

It's a bizarre, illogical belief, but I sense that it may be rampant.

That's not totally bizarre. Spirit can shine through. I mean, it's true attitude isn't going to change your bone structure, but a kind, caring, loving, happy, non angry person whose eyes sparkle, and who always has a smile on one's face, can have a glow about them and an attractiveness about them, even if they are naturally plain, and a person with a naturally gorgeous bone structure can mar their appearance with an angry or haughty expression.

^^^ what she said

I have known many very physically beautiful people who are ugly because of who they are under the looks.

I have also known many *plain* looking people who are very beautiful because they have such a beautiful spirit.

Yep. Makes a difference. That's why I don't rely on physical appearance ... it's deceiving.

Well beauty fades, proverbs 31, and the mirror tells us this, so putting all of our eggs in one basket, is building our house upon the sand.

Focusing, are you male or female? If you don't mind my asking. I know it says "Sam," on your signature, but that could be Samuel or Samantha.

I'm a girl ... and a girly girl at that

You know, I should probably clarify what I said earlier ... That's why I don't rely on physical appearance ... it's deceiving. ... because it could be taken a couple ways.

I didn't mean relying upon my looks, I meant that although I see someone and observe their appearance, I don't make a judgment call on the person they are by the visual they present. I am far more interested in what's behind the face. Everyone has a story to tell.

Yeah, I knew that's what you meant?

Is your real name Samantha?

I LOVE that name!

I saw that guy, Nick, on Oprah I think. He is very inspiring. I would really hate to have no limbs because I love hugs so much! Then again, he seems to be hugging everyone he meets.
