I wanted to see 27 dresses, but it zoomed in and out of the theatres. would "Made of Honour" be classified as a romantic comedy?

More or less.

Now I realize that is technically a movie question, however it is a question specifically aimed at women though. I got this idea from the other thread that I started about Commercials Aimed At Women.

When you go to a movie labeled a romantic comedy, do you laugh? Because most of the romantic comedies that I have seen never appeared all that funny to me at all, and yet I have heard that women have said that some movies were hysterical!

The one movie that comes to mind is "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". While I enjoyed that film, I didn't find it all that particularly funny at all, however I have heard that women found it really funny!

So I was just wondering if it is just that men do not get it at all but women do instead?

Well, I guess I'm the weird one in the bunch because I didn't like Greek Wedding either. And, to be perfectly honest, I'm not too into romantic comedies....although that scene in My Best Friend's Wedding where they all break into song at the restaurant was hilarious!!

However, my comedy preferences lean more towards things like Dodgeball, Zoolander, Monty Python and the Holy Grail.... Given my choice though, I'd much rather watch a good gangster flick or a horror movie.....

dodgeball and zoolander?!? I think I lost braincells in the couch cushions watching those movies. Monty Python on the other hand is a shoe.

Ooo! I love romantic comedies. My Big fat Greek Wedding was definitely a good one. Another good one is While You Were Sleeping. Anyway, I usually find them pretty hilarious. I guess I agree with what a lot of people have been saying. Usually it's easier to find them funny when you can relate. But I know plenty of guys that love "chick flicks" and enjoy a good laugh when they watch them.

Tootsie is one of my all-time favorites.

I am also a man. I apologize for invading your forum, ladies. But...most heterosexual men I know, other than myself, really love the 80's romantic teen comedies. Such as anything with Molly Ringwald in it, or John Hughes movies in general, as well as Say Anything with John Cusack. I actually bought a poster of Say Anything for my heterosexual male friend's birthday a few years ago. He loved it.

I debated to put this in the I Just Saw thread, but decided to put it here instead. I just saw Baby Mama. I enjoyed it.

I love love love love love love love SAY ANYTHING. It's one of the reasons John Cusack is one of my favorite actors, although I understand his politics don't jive with mine. (Why can't they keep their traps shut!?!?)

Whatever happened to Ione Skye???

I love Romantic Comedies!!!
They have actually been my therapy while grieving.

My all time favorite is How to Loose a Guy in 10 Days! I still laugh out loud and I have seen it a few times now.

My all time fav. Classic Romantic Comedy is : Bringing Up Baby. I laugh so hard I cry and I have seen it at least 20 times. In fact I think I will rent it tonight.
