Good Morning Santa. I hope you are having a great day.

Having a good but busy day here at work.

Just got off phone with MsJudy. Now that lady will scold you if you are not careful. My upbringing makes me say yes ma'am or no ma'am without even thinking and MsJudy got on my case for calling her ma'am. But we had a nice conversation.
Please keep her and a friend in your prayers as they travel to Nashville this weekend for Dottie Rambo's funeral. They were good friends.

My full name is Gerald and that is pronounced with a hard "G" and not a soft one. It is very unusual pronunciation. (And that is why I go by Gary) When strangers pronounce it incorrectly I usually let it go, if I am not going to see them again it is not worth the effort to try to correct them.

I have a cousin who is married to a man named Gerald, pronounced with a hard "G". He was the only one I knew of that did that until now, but, of course, I have led a rather sheltered life.

LOL We hard "G" Gerald's are rather unique.

My trip is being delayed. The plumber has arrived (See Kerr's thread from last night) And he is going to need access to the crawl space. So since I am here already, I am having him do the work, but he has to go and get long pants and shirt.

I don't believe that I could trust a plumber who showed up in shorts and no shirt.

BBFan: It just ocurred to me that you can get double duty from your user name. BBFan could stand for "baseball fan" as well as "Booth Bros. Fan".

ROFLOL. For the record he had on cargo shorts and a short sleeve polo shirt. And he remembered when he was here for the February flood. He commented on how muddy he got.

It is pronounced like the first syllable of "garage" only with an e sound.

That probably doesn't make much sense, but I can't think of another word with that sound.

I have to say I like that but can see where you would get it mispronounced. My eldest is named Colin but gets "Cole-lyn" a lot. I think because of the popularity of Gen. Powell. Our last name gets murdered too...We get "pole-lard" instead of short "o". So..he gets frustrated a lot when he gets both names pronounce with long "O" instead of the short "O"!

Christi: Why do the Cubs want Edmonds? Have they sent Pie back to the minors? If they get Edmonds, will it affect the status of their premier LH ph (imho), Darryl Ward? It will be hard for me to get the mind-set of being an Edmonds fan, after he spent all those years with our chief nemesis, the Cardinals.

I just knew we'd have the same feelings about Edmonds. It is going to be very hard for the bleacher bums to not boo him. When I used to post on the Cubs message board all the time, we called him Maybelline Boy because he kind of looks like he has on eyeliner. Look real close next time you see him...you'll see it. It's gonna be hard to accept an ex dead-bird...I mean Cardinal.

Poor Pie, he just keeps getting called up and sent down. He's probably dizzy. I just don't know why in the world they made the deal.

Well, you could always do like some relatives of mine & call them by their full name, "Daniel J. Mount."

I like that!

(And I love it when they call me that, too! )

On second thought, that would not work because I would want Sweet Tea with mine and she would not be caught delivering sweet tea to anyone.
