Sharon-Marie: I enjoyed working at the front desk of the hotel. I worked nights, and it was nice to be able to help visitors; so I will try that again. It shouldn't be too hard this time of year. I was thinking of taking some courses in medical coding or medical transcription. I've had so many medical procedures the last several years, and that would be easier that medical school.

Joey: I am ashamed to say that the book is still here in the pile of books I'm trying to get to. I'll let you know when I get to it.

Get used to the expenses. My kids are both grown and married; and between them and the grandkids, it only gets worse. Sorry. Good thing they are worth it.

Yeah . . . Pigeon Forge . . . definitely won't have any trouble getting work at a hotel. Prepared to be very busy. LOL

And Medical Coding or Medical Transcription jobs will also keep you quite busy. Are there schools around here that offer those courses, or were you thinking of doing something online?

Lynn is probably kicked back in her recliner watching the game. I only have the internet play by play to look at.

Nope...just got back from picking up my new baby. She is asleep at my feet right now. Her new name is Belle short for Southern Belle!
Listening to the game right now. Our cable provider does give us Peachtree on game nights or days whatever it may be. We finally found it the other week. It's in the HDTV channels. Don't have it on my tv but still get the game.

Sorry Joey...they don't get any cheaper...my almost 21 year old costs me more than my other 2 together.

Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOO much!!!

Everything is A-OK.

I've printed out the thread and have written a letter to my aunt saying that pushing me to do something that can not be done, especially that involves my abuser is very harmful to me and it needs to stop. I let her know that if she continues that I will probably withdraw from her more than I already have out of self-preservation. Ball's kind of in her court about it.

As for me, I'm fine. I've been blessed and encouraged and prayed for and I'm at a place in my life where there is SO much peace. God is so Good!

"Dreading Old Age"

I have always dreaded old age. I cannot imagine anything worse than being old. How awful it must be to have nothing to do all day long but stare at the walls or watch TV? So last year, when the President suggested we all celebrate Senior Citizen Week by cheering up a senior citizen, I decided to do just that. I would call on my new neighbor, an elderly retired gentleman, recently widowed, and who, I presumed, had moved in with his married daughter because he was too old to take care of himself. I baked a batch of cookies, and, without bothering to call (some old people cannot hear the phone), I went off to brighten this old guy's day.

When I rang the doorbell this "old guy" came to the door dressed in tennis shorts and a polo shirt, looking about as ancient and decrepit as Donny Osmond. "I'm sorry I can't invite you in," he said when I introduced myself, "but I'm due at the Racquet Club at two. I'm playing in the semifinals today."

"Oh that's all right," I said. "I baked you some cookies."

"Great!" he interrupted, snatching the box. "Just what I need for bridge club tomorrow! Thanks so much!"

I continued, "...and just thought we'd visit a while. But that's okay! I'll just trot across the street and call on Granny Grady."

"Don't bother," he said. "Gran's not home; I know. I just called to remind her of our date to go dancing tonight. She may be at the beauty shop. She mentioned at breakfast (at which house?) that she had an appointment for a tint job."

So I went home and called my Mother's cousin (age 83); she was in the hospital working in the gift shop. I called my aunt (age 74); she was on vacation in China. I called my husband's uncle (age 79). I forgot; he was on his honeymoon.

I still dread old age, now more than ever. I just don't think I'm up to it.

hey Christi. check out the group update thread((((shameless plug))))

Santa in the PFY section I have a thread called Soldier Land. I started today putting one a day a fact of totally useless info in a post.

will share todays here though.

To answer the age old question of which came first, the chicken or the egg, please read Genesis 1:20-22.

God told all animals to go forth into all lands and multiply.

not useless but is funny to see the answer in black and white
