Like the Lord of the Rings the series should be taken as a whole and not seperated. Kind of like reading the bible there are some books that are boring but you still read it because its part you skip you havent read the bible and would have missed somethig God wanted you to know

i agree. anyway NARNIA the characters can be related by one to their own journey of faith, just like what this article says.

Overall the movie is great, for Christians and non-Christians.

Holybattleaxe -> RE: Narnia (6/4/2008 11:40:32 PM)

i havent seen the movie how was it?

PrincessButtercup -> RE: Narnia (6/4/2008 11:48:35 PM)

Cass, I thought it was good. But I think I enjoyed it so much because of the fella I went to see it with. [;)]

But it really was good if you follow along closely enough. It wasn't as great as the first Narnia movie in terms of character development, but I looooooooved the sword fighting. *violent*

Holybattleaxe -> RE: Narnia (6/4/2008 11:49:56 PM)

oh u went out with Randy at the movie?? hehehehehe

PrincessButtercup -> RE: Narnia (6/4/2008 11:54:32 PM)

And he got me kicked out of the theater too! Haha!

Holybattleaxe -> RE: Narnia (6/4/2008 11:56:28 PM)

u got kicked out??? *Hugs Mandy*

PrincessButtercup -> RE: Narnia (6/4/2008 11:59:09 PM)

Haha! No, I was just joking.

We didn't get kicked out exactly. In the middle of the movie, the fire alarm malfunctioned and started going off. They had to shut the system down, and it's illegal to have a building full of people without that system working. But we got refunds and finished the movie the next day though. It was so funny being thown out! [:D]

Holybattleaxe -> RE: Narnia (6/5/2008 12:01:00 AM)

When I understand the definition of "behave", I might apply it to my life.

But until then... [sm=raisedbrows.gif]

well, that was a ten cent text message wasted. [sm=aside.gif]

rae_of_light -> RE: Narnia (6/9/2008 10:46:25 AM)

So I'm just a bit confused.... Mandy, did you really go to a movie with Randy, in real life? [&:]

I still haven't seen Prince Caspian. AUGH!!!! 'Course it doesn't help that I'm flat broke and have to work and do school all the time.

PrincessButtercup -> RE: Narnia (6/9/2008 1:19:16 PM)

*gigglez*

And I'm broke too chica. Thank God I'm getting paid today.

rae_of_light -> RE: Narnia (6/9/2008 1:22:34 PM)

Don't do that to me, I just wanna know!! [:(] This summer I'm going to have to work my backside off for every. single. penny. I'm babysitting 5-yo twins and their 7-yo brother, and I just found out how exhausting it is!!

PrincessButtercup -> RE: Narnia (6/9/2008 1:25:39 PM)

Ugh. Sorry Rae. I used to babysit a lot, but now I refuse to. Haha!

I need to get yet another job on top of the ice cream store and the radio station and those few and far between dogsitting jobs. I need to save up some money for important stuff, and these small jobs just aren't cutting it. *poor*

rae_of_light -> RE: Narnia (6/9/2008 1:30:54 PM)

I know the feeling... ugh. At least the babysitting this summer is like a regular p/t job though... I hafta volunteer at the library for a couple months, because there's a job opening up, and they've basically said that, if I volunteer, I can have it. So yeah, tons of work this summer, but not nearly enough money! [:D]

PrincessButtercup -> RE: Narnia (6/9/2008 1:33:39 PM)

Oh I hope you get that job at the library! That would be perfect for you!

I had to volunteer for several months at the radio station before I landed a position. Even though it took forever, it was worth it.

rae_of_light -> RE: Narnia (6/9/2008 1:39:52 PM)

Yeah, I figure it'll be worth it, even in many circumstances. This is a good way to find out if it's something I really want to do before I commit myself to training and the job.

PrincessButtercup -> RE: Narnia (6/9/2008 1:44:35 PM)

Smart move.

Oh, have you read the Narnia series?

rae_of_light -> RE: Narnia (6/9/2008 1:48:43 PM)

Yes yes yes, I loooooove them!!! C. S. Lewis truly is a master writer! Me and my mum want to go to Oxford for a week long Apologetics course, and I think it'd be amazing to be there, where he worked and lived!

PrincessButtercup -> RE: Narnia (6/9/2008 1:51:34 PM)

I love them too! And I love the movies as much as I love the books! Lewis isn't just an amazing fiction writer, but also a brilliant man. I've only read the first few chapters of "Mere Christianity" and he blew me away.

rae_of_light -> RE: Narnia (6/9/2008 1:55:31 PM)

Yeah, he is an awesome writer. I just finished reading The Great Divorce, it was really well done.

PrincessButtercup -> RE: Narnia (6/9/2008 1:57:39 PM)

I'll probably end up reading all of his stuff once I get done with this one. Did you like "The Great Divorce"?
