Set up playlists in itunes
Synchronize

The playlists will transfer to the ipod

Can't delete the songs on the ipod, but you can delete them in itunes and then sync and they will be removed.

Enjoy.

Yep I made a "workout music" playlist and then are some other playlists, I have one for country, one for classical, etc.

Not true. If you change your options to manually manage your music you can add or delete songs by dragging and dropping.

I think the poster was asking about on the Ipod itself though. Not via itunes.

On the iPod itself, or the iTunes?

I don't have iTunes at work so I'll have to check tonight when I get home, but I think it's on the page that comes up when I plug in my iPod. Emphasis on "I think".

the ipod its self will not allow you to delete music or move music from 1 playlist to another. You can delete music from the ipod going through itunes you can also maintain playlist only via itunes. The Ipod must be connected to do any of the above. You are allowed to tie the ipod to 5 computers that you can manipulate the music, after that you have to 'deauthorize' a computer.
