...or are we just going to hope it goes away..?[&:]

If Hizbullah gains control of that country's government, Iran will be on Isreal's doorstep.

I'm confused now. I thought getting rid of Saddam was going to make that area safe. [8|]

So...Anybody want to talk about whats happening in Lebanon???

There is a law of unintended consequences. It especially applies to people like George Bush who think they understand things and want to control the world. The British invited Japan to invade China as part of their strategy to fight Germany in World War One. Germany allowed Lenin to return to Russia in order to destabilize Russia in the same war.

One can understand how the support of Hezbollah by Iran might be seen in the short run as advantageous for them, but it is a mystery to me why Syria aids in destabilizing Lebanon.

It may be that Satan wants things to be kept stirred up so that when his man (the anti-christ) comes on the scene, he can make it look like he has "solved" the problems of the mid east and is really the Messiah.

Because Syria is an enemy of Israel and hates the Jews, also. Syria also receives material from Iran for the building of nuclear weapons. That is why Israel bombed them not too long ago. To blow up a suspected nuclear site.

Lebanon is scary. IMHO it is only a matter of time before it falls to the terrorists. The government is close to being run by the terrorists[:(]

Incorrect.

The United States and Israel alleged that it was NORTH KOREA, not Iran, who was supposedly helping Syria. Neither Washington nor Tel Aviv have provided evidence that there indeed were North Korean elements in Syria who were involved in any work to assist Syria weaponize nuclear fuel.

It's comments like these, by well-intentioned people whose knowledge is limited, that make me wonder why I even bother trying to discuss issues seriously on Current Events. Sometimes I'm told facts are only from God, sometimes I am told I "can't" say something or that I can "quibble" about facts, and then I read people say that Lebanon is "scary."

I'll change the wording a little[;)]

The situtation in Lebanon is very serious. If the terrorists take control of that country Israel would have a terrorist nation on it's northern border.

Maybe terrorists are not a concern to you Rich, but they are to me. They are out to destroy Israel, the land I love.
